    just read this back.

frankly the ref was the same ref that f'd up our game before. he aint up to top level games.

there were a few bad tackles today and he was really really trying... to not send someone off. I've seen other refs just book guys on the foul and not on the number of priors and other f ups.. but he told at least 2 if not 3 newcastle players that was it and they took no real notice.

Newcastle are dirty f'rs when they want to be.

no way should they have had 11 at the end.

this table says it all about our rivals

    http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/form-guide.html

city have won all their last 6. and 10 out of last 12

chelsea are second and utd are third... so tobes is actually right about utd... over the period of 6 games. the opposing view is also right as the cups were disastrous for utd and piled on pressure... utd's test is cheslea away... lets not really talk recovery before they play a real team that doesn't come to roll over ala west ham.

Everton and spurs are our rivals along with utd and just maybe arsenal by the end of february. we all have very similar form over the past period... which isn't too bad for LFC seeing we played the to p2 away and i predict they will be 1 and 2 (city wins) by the end

I think the prem is about to get very interesting and form must go up a notch from here on in.... its men from the boys now.

MOTD2 analysis of the Newcastle goal reveals point by point just how completely incompetent Mike Jones is.

Guarantee he's back in the Championship next week.

will pardew get charged? I think so.

    is he right... no...

if entertainment = letting the homeside away with murder he is wrong. the 55k people in the ground is dwarfed by millions globally watching newcastle hack down players left and right and his behaviour too boot.

was it a goal? maybe.. i'd prob give it seeing ti went right in, someone said the ref said (hearsay) it was a slight deflection off one of the newcastle boys all lurking offside but not interfering.

end of the world, nope... did newcastle resort to.. and not for the first time... kicking players... yes.

newcastle look.. i like them even though the hate when we rob their players but pardew... i think he's filth and also a bad manager who doesn't deserve the job.... anything happening to newcastle therefore i'm happy.

Hart lied to the linesman that his view was blocked by Newcastle players when not one was in his line of view.

    Awful decision and precedent.

The fact that the ref was completely ****e also led to all the non-sendings off for fouls.

The linesman never gave the decision, the referee did.

There is a possibility that Hart could have been distracted by Goufran despite him not blocking his line of sight. As Hart could have held his position anticipating that the forward might have got something on the ball thus deflecting it's path.

That said, Newcastle were very unlucky, as I don't think any keeper would have got near that shot anyway & by the letter of the law it should have stood. The rule is a shocker though, keep it simple ffs.

i'd want my keeper lying too. bu t all he did was stick a sheepish hand up. the linesman and ref consulted its their problem.

I dunno what they thought they saw or not i went by pardew's statement which made it sound like someone touched it or went for it but i didn't see that in replays.

I prob would give it but not for entertainment purposes. pardew is a hypocrite cos if it was the other way round it'd be rules are rules.

I agree the ref didn't send guys off cos he made that call.

Yes the linesman correctly gave nothing, but Hart approaching the linesman is what prompted Mike "doesn't know the rules and regulations" Jones to approach the linesman himself and start ****ing things up.

But the lino didn't agree with him....so it's a moot point.

I think Jones gave the decision as he heard a noise that suggested the slightest of deflections off one of the offside players.

However, he should never have made that call unless he was 100% sure & he can't have been, as he consulted his lino & it simply didn't happen.

That incident is a classic example of where off field video assistance could have been used to get the right result, as the game was held up while he spoke to the lino anyway & the official in the stands wouldn't have needed any longer to tell him the goal should stand.

the question is what did the two officials say with their hands over their faces.

This for me points towards what i said o nthe what changes would you make thread last week.

If this ref has been required to open a mike and state for all what he decided then he'd not have done this. if he'd had to declare live there was a deflection off a player then the debate would have shifted to looking at replays and was he right or wrong.

the 4th official looking at video might have worked too, in rugby it would have taken a minute or two to look at something so "slight" 4th official should be able to do this as he's there already.

Since the linesman didn't flag and the referee himself didn't even blow himself immediately, there's no way the referee had the required confidence that an offence had happened to be able to overrule the goal. Jones is just ****. Really really ****.
