It's these sort of games where you see how a manager reacts as we have been here before even under Jol and Redknapp when we looked hopeless in a game but still won or even lost.

I knew Palace would be tough and Sherwood could learn from someone like Pullis on how to organise a team yet in Pullis early career I'm sure he was at a stage where he put out teams which lacked organisation.

Once Sherwood learns the '' keep it simple '' isn't the complete answer and realises a certain degree of organisation is needed then it could all come together, yet this is why I can't see us getting top four, this year, as for Sherwood to learn and pick up enough points is asking too much.

But as for Palace, hope they beat Stoke next week and survive as they are good team.

The cruel eyes of Youtube don't do Mr Puncheon any favours:

In addition to Lennon and Bentaleb, I thought Rose and Chiriches were decent. Bentaleb is looking like a Spurs legend in the making. Most of our players struggle to hit one post per shot, and he's already hitting two.

  7. Rose was all over the place in the first half - admittedly that is exacerbated by having the lightweight Eriksen in front of him. Certainly better in the 2nd half, but frankly that was because he was pushing fowprward more and didn't have much defending to do.

Chiriches confuses me: clearly talented and looks (over) confident on the ball, but gets caught out of position, dawdles on the ball and gets out-jumped too much for my liking. Palace tore us a new one for 45 minutes yesterday and it is no disrespect to them, by saying that we should be better able to deal with the likes of Cameron Jerome!!

On a positive note, thought Lennon was again excellent and Ade ran absolutely miles - dropping deep to link play, especially when the ball was just not coming through from midfield. Eriksen got a goal but didn't add much more and Dembele was, well, Dembele. Bentaleb certainly did some decent things and hopefully will develop further, but don't see him yet as the answer to our need for a creative midfielder.

    Cheeky bid for Mata anyone?

    Cheeky bids is footballs' WUMmery.
Depending on the results next weekend, perhaps even more so.

  10. It's the price that us wums pay for our wummery. Instead of looking upon expert wummery as a mark of greatness and genius insightfulness, it's sneered at and seen as evidence of foolishness and ignorance.

Probably spending 90 minutes wishing somebody told him Radja Nainggolan had been loaned to Roma last week...

Lucky that wasn't against Stoke. Sort of antics that makes Charlie Adam end your season.

Jason Puncheon's made a bad situation even worse by making some ill-advised comments about Neil "Colin" Warnock, after his former manage criticised the decision to allow him to take the penalty.

It's now in the hands of some lawyers, apparently. Oh dear.
