Harpers only down here 3 days a week anyway. He's still heavily involved with Newcastle and loves the club. No big deal that he does commentry for them now and again
We pay his wages. It should be a big deal. It was the a turning point for Stuart Green when he foolishly watched CUFC as a guest of the directors there when he was still our larker. AP/PT not impressed. Maybe new owner not bothered?
Anyone see the disallowed goal? Not sure what the ****s in commentary are talking about, it was a good call by the linesman.
Stuart, even for you this is embarrassing. It's a nothing story, let it go and enjoy your sunday afternoon off as i'm sure Harper is.
No it wasn't. 3 offside yes but none of them interfered with play. Nobody touched it or got in the way of Hart's view. Poor decision and an absolutely woeful refereeing display so far, he hasn't had hold of the game at all.
At least one was right next to Hart. Just because he wasn't directly in front of him is irrelevant. I'd have given offside.
Does it matter if he gets paid for it or not? It's not like he's there with "Harper" and the number 9 on the back of his brand new Newcastle shirt singing "**** off Hull Tigers" in the Gallowgate end. He's giving his opinion as a Premier League player on a match for two very big clubs, one of which he played almost all of his career for. Would you care if he was sat in the stands watching without getting paid? I'd guess that he probably has an executive box for him and his family and he's probably been to quite a few of their games. I have no idea how this could possibly wind you up.
I should imagine that Brucie gave his blessing for this little media turn of Harper. If the manager sees no problem, then there's no problem.
I don't see how you can. Gouffran doesn't impede the flight of the ball or Hart's vision. It should have stood.
If I was the ref I'd have disallowed it, if for no other reason than the fun of watching Pardew's reaction.
Which is fair enough. But in an ideal world 'Harps' wouldn't do it nor wouldn't be allowed to do it. Like away fans in parts of the ground, you can take the lazy steward's view of 'what harm does it do?', or you can try and enforce the 100% HCFC Fortress view. If our players are doing the business and performing well, then don't meddle with a winning formula. But I suspect that the successful teams in football or any other sport are the ones that don't have a lot of time for this 'my heart lies elsewhere' crap.
