Hooiveld's been mentioned as the guy who really makes new players welcome, sets them up with a flat, car etc and helps them settle in, so he's probably worth keeping around for that. I also think he's a decent defender on his day, but sadly his day is becoming increasingly less frequent.
Yeah I know, this will probably be the last season for both, shame it hasn't worked out this season but circumstances have been against them too, Hooiveld in particular was great in the Champ. I think we will get a new left back in the Summer, for now I guess we are relying on Clyne/Chambers/Fox covering Shaw. Which is a bit risky but we can cope for a few months.
So do you think he give us a spark? Did he look like he wanted to receive the ball a lot? Did he track back when they had the ball?
he made a lot of effort off the ball, he was wild though. needs a lot more work on that. don't want the red card incident happening again.
But he will keep doing it as that is the type of player he is. We need someone like that in our squad for days like yesterday. Right now he hasn't been a starter for me, but certainly needs to be on the bench and yesterday proved why.
sorry, i think there's a lot he does that is needlessly casual and he must improve on. agree he must be on the bench. God forbid, in any situation Lallana becomes unavailable he probably must start.
yeah I do but because of the tone of your question i've no desire to answer you. edit: i subsequently realise that i've technically answered you
Slightly harsh for people to say Lambert was ineffective yesterday. I was at the game and thought he played well holding up the ball and bringing the wingers in to play. If anything was to be criticised in regards to Lambert then it was the service in to him, no player put a good cross in all afternoon. Also, the most anonymous player yesterday was Rodriguez, as well as he's done this year he's been poor the last few games and made bad decisions with the ball yesterday, especially when he didn't play Lambert in at 0-0.
Oh come on Vin, that's a bit unfair. Sotonist has been making his point fairly well and it's been re Ramirez - we may disagree on this particular point, but he's hardly tucking in to everyone!
The service was dire yes. Rodriguez very disappointing. Aberration, one hopes. Shame to lose the hot streak. Perhaps the way our midfield has been patched up is forcing Lambert to regress into the midfield role more than he would otherwise need to. edit: it's our midfield from last season though.
I just haven't seen anything from you but negativity. Hoover, Fox, Davis, Ramirez, Lambert, Guly, Osvaldo have all come in for it in one way or another since you returned yesterday. I wonder what could have made my tone sound accusatory? Not getting an answer from you hurts, though. Vin
