It's very strange. We are at our highest prolonged position for seasons. We have played some wonderful football. Pundits and journos are now taking our challenge for one of the top 4 spots seriously. Yet our board is quieter than ever!! I know Christmas and New year have gone. People are spent up and there's little to cheer us up in either the weather or the economy but I've never seen it effect our spirits in quite this way before!
The board is probably more active than ever but only at certain times, there are a few new posters and some old ones returning but they don't sit on here and post all the time it's just the usual group (clique) who do that.
im ok dave, would like to see some sort of business done in jan though, think it needs to be done to sustain top 4 push. too many rumours at mo though and no facts, we need to sign a couple of players then i will cheer up lol. happy where we are at, just worried we don't capitalize on it while we can and get no players in as we need them. bit apprehensive about today as we need to get a result now to get back in top 4 as that will make it easier to attract players i should imagine.
I understand how you feel. Up until December I too felt that we needed 'new faces' in this window if only to freshen things up. However, I now think that Rodgers and Co will only make a move if the players that they really want become available. It seems like a risk but they are better placed than you or I to make that decision. I only hope that they are right. Having said that, it appears that all clubs are waiting for the log-jam to break towards the end of the window.
I think that a lot of people don't really believe in us and are expecting the wheels to come off at any moment, tbh. See comments about being nervous about today's game and how poorly we do at Stoke. These are valid comments on the Liverpool of the last few seasons, not this one. Of course anything can happen in a game, but if we're serious about top 4, we have to go into these games expecting a result. I just think people can't quite believe it's happening.
