We wouldn't announce a signing, unless it was pretty much a done deal, Jelavic will be a City player within the next few days.
Its the most likely situation. We will have him agree to personal terms as fast as possible clearly. From past transfers the club clearly doesnt like to announce sinings on the weekend so Monday or Monday afternoon is the most likely scenario.
I'm optimistic he'll sign. We need a striker and he needs to play for a half-decent team so he gets to play in the World Cup. If we were in the bottom 3 it might be a different story.......
Like I said before we announced it not Everton. Here the times and methods that the clubs announced that the bid was accepted. Times are my timezone. Hull City AFC - Twitter 12:58 Hull City AFC - Facebook 12:59 Everton FC - Facebook 1:08 Everton FC - Twitter 1:08 Hull City AFC - Website 1:12 Everton FC - Website 1:23 It has been said that the HDM was going to run a story about it and thats why we announced it. That either means that we or they made a call to the media. The only evidence one can point to is this as far as which club jumped the media and made the announcement. The fact that it was the HDM indicates that even that phone call occured from someone at our club and not theirs.
Believe me, they announced it. Why would we announce it when Bruce is now annoyed that it's out in the open?
All evidence points to the opposite. The fact that it was HDM that was going to run the story and not an everton newspaper also points to the opposite. Do you have any time evidence that counters what I posted?
I mean you could be right. There are a couple methods I can not prove. Any press release to the media directly, and any "official" or "unofficial" phone call. Could be that the HDM got the story from a paper that covers Everton. I dont mean to say that it is impossible that you are correct.
Well then my theories wrong. I'll stick with it though, not that it really makes a huge difference as I still think we've got him, just don't think it was announced because we've already got him.
But, now surely there's a separate concern to mull over. If Bruce is extremely unhappy with the bid being announced, then surely there's an element in the club that is leaking things they shouldn't be?
No doubt. To many things have come out recently, Long, Fletcher, Jelavic, Long again. Someone or multiple people are leaking info to the media either for money or to feel important.
Not quite the same subject, but I think the speed the Jelavic negotiations seem to have been done is very promising. Hopefully Ehab's presence helps as he can get straight on the bat phone to dad and get a quicker decision than others.
