My point is that just because moving to the MLS won't rule him out entirely, it doesn't mean it won't damage his chances. I'm sure the likes of Frazier Campbell, Crouch, Bent etc will probably all be considered, doesn't mean they have a realistic chance of selection.

SAF was looking at signing him at one time. Considering he couldn't hack Posh, there could have been a lot of friction with Jermain.

Danielle Lloyd, Imogen Thomas, Chantelle Houghton, Charlotte Mears - that lot would give any man a coronary.

He was also looking to sign Darren Anderton one time. He rectified that by signing Owen Hargreaves.

I remember a surreal moment at Fratton Park. Portsmouth were awarded a penalty in front of us Spurs fans. Ramos was our manager and it was the Sol Campbell chants occasion.

Defoe took the penalty and scored. He had just scored against us, we were losing and yet all Spurs fans chanted "Jermain Defoe, he's a Yiddo".

I think there was a round of "You're Spurs and you know you are" aswell.

    <ok>

    There was indeed <ok>.

Crouch had an easy header in front of the Park Lane the other week and ballsed it up. He got the same chant, bless him. Robbo of course, always gets it.

Thanks JD, and best of luck in everything. I loved the kind and gracious goodbye, and all the goals. He was a wonderful servant of the club, and I'm so pleased he got the record. I think he may be the all-time PL leader in goals off the bench as well. The finest goal I saw was the one against West Ham, but in terms of impact it had to be the one against Man City--which I eventually received as a birthday card, It arrived, amazingly, on the exact right day: August 5th...(though my birthday's May 8th).

I may just have to take the pleasant 5 hour drive to Toronto and show the flag--especially as a good friend of mine moved there recently.

Yeah, I think the Crouch one might've come across as a bit cheeky but I think it was intended to be good natured like the others.

Shame Robbo's not getting any games these days, hopefully he'll stay in football and get some pundit work, especially with the World Cup in the summer. He's certainly better than that twat Savage.

Robinson played for Blackburn recently in the draw against City in the FA Cup, returning from a long injury.

Very poor decision from Defoe imo.

Should have just moved clubs in the Premier League.

  16. "I'll be sorry to lose Jermain. Toronto are getting a fine goalscorer. I don't think there are many better goalscorers than Jermain out there."
    (Sherwoodie's post-match comments, Spurs v Palace)

    No many better goalscorers?

    How about:-

    Goofy
    Auguro
    Remy
    Toure
    Hazard
    Lukaku
    Rooney
    Sturridge
    Giroud
    Ramsey
    Negredo
    Rodreiguez
    van Persie
    Wellbeck
    Bony
    Gouffian
    Lambert
    Oscar
    Cabaye
    Coleman
    Hooper
    Lallana
    Sidwell

    ?

And that's just players in the Prem.

Has Defoe shagged your sister or something? You seem to a have a downer on a guy who just scored the winner for us today?

Looking at some of the names on there I think haig is on the wummery path SD. Only about 3 of those are anywhere near the quality of JD

  19. Yet all of those listed have scored more goals this season than our so-called "true" legendary striker.

  20. To be fair, Eriksen actually scored the winner. Defoe's goal was surplus to requirements, much the same as most of Darren Bent's goals for us.
