Refs fault on this me thinks. They didn't turn up till 12:30 and inspected at 1. The club thought it would be ok - haven't seen it so it's hard to tell, but the ref obviously saw different.

There's no two ways about it. This is an absolute embarrassment... the first thing our new owners need to do is sort our poxy pitch out...!!

How have we gone from having one of the best pitches in England to one of the worst...?

Can we be find by the league for the number of matches called off ?

Thanks CAFC Ted, the call saved me a wasted train trip. a minute later & it would have been different.

    Ah, I didn't realise this...:

"We're in this predicament because the pitch hasn't had any sufficient drainage work done on it for the past 16 or 17 years," deputy head groundsman Nathan Chapman told the club website.
"The drainage system is collapsed at one end which prevents any water from going through and as a result it just holds on the surface.
"The only way to permanently solve the problem is to wait until the summer when we will put into action plans of a new drainage system which will then be sufficient enough.
"The reason we can't do it now is because we need to dig the whole pitch up and pretty much start again."

Yes well I got down there and was speaking to some Barnsley fans. Some of them have made a weekend of it, and stayed overnight. Of course they won't get a penny back. They are entitled to be furious, it hasn't been raining today, so why wasn't the pitch inspection called earlier, like it was for the other two games? The referee's reasons for calling it off are perfectly valid, there's no excuse, I'm afraid our club is badly at fault.

I actually can't believe my luck today, I bet on 16 teams across 2 bets, a tenfold and a 6 fold. Got 14 right but Southend and Cardiff incorrect and they were in the different bets, couldn't believe it, edge of seat stuff but once again I have lost.

Missed out on £50 today from a £1 bet... Had Huddersfield / Middlesbrough / Forest and Reading all down to win and only an equaliser from Bolton ruined it for me

Maybe I should stop doing these threads now...

this is the second one I've done now that has been cancelled in quick succession - Maybe the Players and Staff are striking over them?

9/1. Thanks, but I lost the other £30. In play I've bet atletico-barca at under 2.5. If it comes off that £123 for the day!

Very strange business. Danny Wilson said it was unplayable and CP has not suggested otherwise, so not the referee's fault. Not his fault for late inspection either as it appears the club assured everyone it was playable and did not request an early inspection.

Had we not been bought out I would have thought that the owners tried to pressure everyone to play because desperate for the gate receipts. If that was still the case after the takeover we are in bigger trouble than I thought. Their statement on the OS leaves it open whether our groundstaff or the ref was at fault. I don't believe either were.

Another postponed game :-/ I thought the pitch would be fine by now. I have a feeling the pitch for the cup game coming up will be better. Our 1st squad hasn't had action so Charlton could play our 1st team against Oxford.

Looking at that video, the pitch still looks dreadful, dread to think what it'll look like come May.
