Tell us more Wait. You had your first divorce while still at college? Av got bad memories of a wummin in fancy dress as a cat. The tiara is immaterial. Suffice to say I do not want to talk about it.
I was 28, doing an access course. My lawyer was gorgeous. I used to talk about him all the time, even during classes. The psychology woman found my obsession with him interesting to say the least
Stopme's fascinating anecdotes no. 6597865: On the school maths trip we played poker in my room and drank, I had 8 cans of bitter and a half bottle of rum. Was violently ill, must have come close to vomiting my major organs. Woke up the next morning feeling about as rough as is possible with a big pile of cash on the table. I'd cleaned them out.
We all got done at school for playing at lunchtime- a nun came into the classroom and saw a couple of notes and a rake of coins on the table and went compeltely apeshit. My old man found out - my aunt was a teacher there at the time - and made me hand over my ****ing winnings <beeling that the triple heart bypass was a success>
I suppose you could program a bot to play poker, much easier for a bot to calculate the odds but bots have no feeling for a bluff or an opportunity to bully a player into folding a good hand. Don't know if i've ever played against one, how could one tell?
If you believe there is skill involved in online poker then maybe you should give up because evidently you are **** at it.
When I played at school it was 5 cards each, best hand wins. I'm guessing the online poker involves cards dealt to you that only you can see, cards for you that everyone sees and cards in the middle for everyone to use. There are so many variations but a bot programmer, and there must be loads of them, some better than others, are purely using probability of success to play the game. I don't know their exact plan but a good one might be: at any point in the game, if "probable success" < 50% -> fold, else carrry on. Humans will "chance their arm" and back a crappy hand or "lose their bottle" and throw in a winning hand. The bot will just play the probabilty and beat humans over time.
^^^^^^^^this I wish I was clued up enough to do a bot programme. I played Texas Hold Em a few times but once I started losing a few quid I packed it in.
I'm actually very good at poker, been playing since I was about 7 and I'm in the money about 75% - 80% of the games I play online so maybe Arnold Palmer was right when he said the more I practice the luckier I get? As for it not being a game of skill, you obviously don't play poker
I suppose that makes sense, I play very tight aggressive and the more aggressive people are at the start the tighter I play. I don't normally really start playing till the blinds are 50/100.
I'm terrible at poker, I know because I am surrounded by people who are very very good at it. One of the fellas I work with is a part-time Pro and has made more money in the last year from poker than what we pay him. Saying there is no skill in online poker is just utterly wrong, 2 minutes of Googling would show you the exact same individuals coming out on top in online tournaments over and over again over many years.
