I would say the resale value of players we have brought into the club is greater than the outlay, therefore the risk is marginal.
It's to do with wages as much as transfer fees. "There is no more money" the current owner said recently, Was he telling halal porkies or are we just racking up the debts? If he takes his ball home when his ludicrous name change gimmick gets knocked back, where will that leave our club?
Thing is, as others have said, Jela is costing us less than either Gayle or Cornelius. Add to that that we've spent the least of the promoted clubs, and I think we can cover these transfers with the promotion money. If we are then about to finish 9-12th, the extra money for finishing higher up the table also helps offset the fees. I can understand why people are anxious, and I don't blame them, but I really don't think Allam is going to jeopardize his chance of recouping anything from the club.
'Chequebook out!' was often chanted by disgruntled fans at BP after another hapless home defeat. Never thought I'd live to see the day when 'Chequebook in' was being urged.
I shall comment no further on here Until he's signed on the dotted line Mcgregor & aluko have to be a big plus for him signing though and our position in the table
Why would they AA hasn't dropped the name change. I would hope that AA showed some maturity and did so. But **** it not going to say no more, this is after all NOT about the name change and as has always been stated we are NOT anti Allam.
Hi Guys, I'm a big blue and season ticket holder for 10 years and a regular at Everton club functions. I can't believe the negativity of some on hear to the possible signing of our Nikki!! I certainly don't want him to leave and if I'm honest I hope the deal falls through. Currently Nikki is in form and his attitude in training has been top class. He wants to prove himself but the only reason he hasn't got a chance this season is a certain Chelsea striker who's also may I say out of form at the moment. When ever Nikki has come on this season he's shown a desire to prove people wrong, last week he was fantastic and you can now see a player full of confidence. Last season was a blip and if you do get him he'll score and he's more of a natural striker than any other we have at the club at the moment. Don't listen to the b*** S**t people are staying, most Evertonians do not want to see him leave.
David Burns ‏@bbcburnsy 9m Just had a quick word with Steve Bruce and Pete Chapman, no bid for Long yet but in talks with WBA. #hcafc Hold your horses!
Appreciate the input mate. I'm very hopeful the deal comes off and if he can get his early Everton form back we might have what we've been missing for about five years.
I don't think getting Livermore in Jan had really been a part of SB's plan. At the end of the day we can get him in summer and although it would bring us more security that we would get him and free up a loan spot SB may see it as more important to buy strikers with the Jan momey and then sort put Jake in summer. If we stay in a similar position and Jake plays like he is then I can't see him leaving. Both him and Tom know what it's like to sit on the bench at a big club and how much they prefer playing every week
Steve Bruce sounded right pissed off that the bid for Jelavic was in the public domain. Said bid was accepted at 7:30 and was on the TV by 8:30. Now have to get things sorted in next 48 hours before any other club tries to step in.
