Free kick to Watford 25-30 yards out. Pushed around.

    Full Time. 0-1

Lots of second half chances. All very disappointing.

Alexander Merkel has a good first match. A caution, then to be sent off and be on the losing team.

Yep - time to put the play-off dreams to bed and look forward to next season.

Never thought we would be 24 points behind Leicester at this stage, need to stop looking up and keep an eye below us... 1 win in 14 games all competitions means we are going only one way....

Unfortunately true...even though a new manager and striker, plus a now banned new midfielder, gives some renewed hope...

Should have been subbed earlier. He was visibly tiring and with a yellow card he was a sending off waiting to happen. Also, Murray subbed after starting to influence the game. Hmmmmm.

Have to say i was suprised when he wasn't the third sub, first game in English football etc. Hope Murray has not got a knock or something because if he hasn't it goes down as a manager error leaving him on with game at that point still in the balance.

Really feel for FF, no way was that a dive. He was sandwiched between two players. I thought the ref was doing ok in first half, but lost the plot in the second.

Looking at these stats, Reading only had one shot on target. Sums up Watford's luck recently. <steam>

Did Sannino show a lack of experience today or was it that half of these Udinese rejects just can't hack it in the English championship. Players that last season couldn't get a regular place are now the guys we depend on. Having said that I thought Angella and ekstrand had an excellent game today, oh well 3 points at Bournemouth will put it all right
    Coyhs!!!

Just as well you had a good start to the season, otherwise you would be in deep trouble.
No chance of Watford going down though. You are better than teams below you.

..and that was against a team that had 10 men for most of the game. Bristol City must feel that if they defend properly that they'll beat us on Tuesday.

I'm getting a bit pissed off with going to home games - we could play for 90 hours and still not look like scoring. Oh well, maybe things will turn around a bit at Bournemouth.

Not much positive to take away from that game. Angella and Ekstand were generally working well together but otherwise there wasn't enough energy and movement early enough in the game. If you play three centre backs I think you need wing backs who get forward quicker. In midfield there wasn't enough movement early on so that we were under pressure as soon as they received the ball. Fabbrini doesn't deliver much but at least he occasionally injected some pace. The side still looks short of confidence and an outfield player to give a lead. Merkel might fit the bill given time, if he can be more selective in his tackling!

If I look at all the recent results the really obvious point is we need to play two strikers at least. Troy on his own is easily marked out of the game and we have no speed to assist. A player with speed like Matej Vydra or Ikechi Anya would help but one is gone and the other injured (or preparing to go, I do not know) so we need to look in another place.
