So after the news last night about Jelavic and Long I was buzzing as it was, but I got even more excited when I finally heard back from a friend of a friend who happened to be the niece of one Keith Bertschin, our Head Coach. She got me in contact with him and told me to give him a ring this morning, which I did. Bertschin was absolutely lovely, and invited me to meet him at Reception before the game today which I did, where he introduced me to a couple of our PR boys, who themselves were also absolutely lovely and reacted like most do to the notion of a Sydney-born Hull City fan. I was then told I'll be able to catch the boys at a training session next time I'm up for the Tottenham home game, and was told to catch up with them after the game, before being led to the OSC, where I was given a couple of free bevvies. Absolutely buzzing with excitement I wasn't even that disheartened by the loss today, although I thought our first half was super impressive, there were a couple of times where I really felt Jelavic will make a huge difference for us if/when he comes! Anyway, post-match went back to catch up with the guys and was presented with a shirt signed by the entire team, which absolutely floored me. Just being over here watching the team every game is a privilege in itself and I find myself so lucky to be able to do that, but to be held in such high regard by some of the staff around the club was absolutely flattering and made it a brilliant day for me. So I guess in amongst all the rest of it, I just wanted to say, thank you to Hull City AFC for being such a brilliant football club, and I couldn't be prouder to support the amber and black.
Been here since Nov 25th, heading home on the 9th of Feb, been to every game while I'm here bar the Boro FA Cup game. Will be at Sarfend though!
Because being the plastic I am (but in reality several extenuating circumstances) I found myself in London with a ticket to the Arsenal-Spurs match.
I'm working on my Aussie accent right now. A suitably heart-tugging backstory is being concocted, too. I expect to top your experience by some distance ST14!
