We are in deep trouble this season now. Up until now the relegation scrap has been at arms length, always close but more than a loss away. Now with the up turn in the performances of the teams below us we are one defeat away from being in the relegation zone. Great. Thanks a bunch CH and yes I do think it is largely down to CH as the system is not working and our defensive play and ball retention is awful.
We are to ridged and not good enough at passing to play such fixed tactical method of attack, we lose it in the final 3rd because there is no one there to pass to in space as the players are either unable to have the vision to move into it or are told to stay where they are for shapes sake. Im not going to point the finger but its blatantly obvious whats wrong. We need to find some middle ground from being gungho lambert style to the opposite extreme which hughton has created. The end of last season saw some change when we were desperate and looking at getting relegated, why do we have to always go back to this conservation approach until we are in serious trouble???
Predictably toothless. We are going to be very lucky not to be right down there come May. I can't see a player coming in that is going to suddenly make the way we play any more effective.
And another free kick for no obvious reason given against us from that corner. Or does Fer just spend his entire time pushing people?
I've now not only lost complete faith in our manager, but also in the board for not acting sooner. It's now not 'if' we go down, but 'when'. HUGHTON OUT !!
Mackems 3-1 up now ! West Ham still in front ! We are going to be in some deepish do do very soon? CH might be required to spend big time if we are to get out of this !
I think that's one of the real issues. We just don't look like we want to force anything. We back off and look scared whenever a player is coming at us. It's just all sounds so pathetic. I must have heard "...the everton player has run unchallenged all the way through our half" about 8 times today! It's like our players are too scared to do anything and just hope the final ball will go wrong.
We heard you the first time! Seriously though, whether the board are or aren't considering firing Hughton, neither of us knows. But I doubt they will react to a loss away against Everton, given that they are one of the form teams of the season and unbeaten at home. Not realistic.
Unfortunately as much as I agree with you, I think we're stuck with the chump now ! I can't see them pulling the trigger now? Should have been after the Fulham defeat
Redmond on and suddenly we seem to know how to play football. His final ball may be awful but at least he gets us up the pitch!
Better! But we do deserve a goal as the commentator says. We've created plenty. It goes back to our shots on target to goals ratio again
It's the manner of defeat though Rob, AGAIN ! Ironically as I type this we've started to play with just 10 mins remaining
