That his family is unsettled? Hope not

And did anyone know why KK was meeting Alonso at Formby Hall on Sun night?

Maybe that may have something to do with him going in part exchange for Juan Mata and Charlie Adam arriving.Unsure of the rest.

Yeah would be very excited to have Mata

Meireles, was banging them in, couldn't stop then suddenly he did, stop. Did KK change his position? For what reason when he was doing so well?

And always Raul is subbed off too isn't he, have you noticed that?

Inflated Fees Could Force Big-Name Sale
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail speculates that inflated transfer demands from selling clubs could lead to Liverpool having to offload one of their big names this summer in order to finance their transfer dealings.

Jordan Henderson has already signed for a fee said to be worth almost £20 million, but after Aston Villa demanded £20 million for winger Stewart Downing and Ipswich told the Reds to double their £5.5 million bid for Connor Wickham the Mail suggests that even offloading the likes of David Ngog, Christian Poulsen, Milan Jovanovic, Joe Cole, Paul Konchesky and Sotirios Kyrgiakos will not bring in enough money to cover a spending spree that could be as much as £80 million and the paper suggests the unlikely-sounding possibility of the sale of Raul Meireles to bring in some revenue.

It's going to be a mistake to let Meireless leave.:emoticon-0104-surpr

It failed to mention the expected £16 million from the expected Aquilani sale.Napoli and AC Milan are hovering around and are expected to make a bid in the near future.

Couldn't agree more Carrol n Suarez...BIG mistake. Meireles was our best player last season.

A calm head on the ball seemed to transmit to his teammates (especially when SG wasn't around)... a calm pass, availability for the return and positional sense made all the diff in CM.

But then these little words here got me thinking...the "Mail suggests"...

Like Perla, I don't think we'll get Mata. I'd have a tenner right now, that won't happen.

Is there anyone else who wouldn't be upset to see Meireles leave?

He's a brilliant player no doubt, but I feel he gets a place in the team when there are players better than him able to take position. CAM is Gerrard's best position (after RM, but he won't play there again), and Meireles isn't the best Creative midfielder. I'd rather we cashed in on him after a good season and got a really creative midfielder in his place.

From a purely business point of view, now is the best time to sell. He's very unlikely to be fans' player of the year again next year, at which point he'll be 29 and we'd struggle getting the £11m we paid for him back.

Sell him now and I think we could get around £15m. 20m euros has been suggested. So while he is a good player, he's certainly not irreplaceable and if he is going to go, now is the time.

£15m from him + £16m from Aquilani = £31m to spend on a top notch midfielder.

Yeah, hopefully it'll turn out that way. Although I think Aquilani may be around the £12m mark. That saga has dragged on for too long now and I think any offer in that vicinity may be accepted. I think I'd accept it. Yes it's a loss, but these owners didn't buy him.
