Simple question: what use, at all, is Les Ferdinand?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Jan 11, 2014.

  1. Because, as far as I can tell, he's been about as useful as a dildo at a nuns' convention.

Isn't his expertise supposed to be in getting our attackers to score?

Well, based on our dismal and shambolic performance in that first half, at home, against Palace, he has been an abject failure.

Please, let's get rid of him, and bring in someone who knows what he's doing, for the sake of our club.

And - little tip, here, for Levy - no more jobs for the boys, eh. Just get in someone with experience and competence.

    Thank you.

Everyone seemed happy to have Tim, Les and German involved when they started.

I think it's good for the identity of the club to have former players involved.

  3. So, you believe that a coach should keep his job purely because he is "ex-Spurs" and regardless as to whether or not he's actually doing a good job?

I think it's been good for continuity, I vote keep him.

  5. I agree, let's keep him...

...but consign him to boot-cleaning duties. I think he could be good at that.

If you were sitting on the Spurs bench we would be in trouble. <laugh>

    Talk about making rash judgments!

Chris Ramsey is quiet during U21 games. I thought the club employed Les to be his instruction megaphone.

    Like you did with Sherwood?

My judgement is based on years of experience with HIAG on 606 :)

  15. I thought my line about "a dildo at a nuns' convention" might, at the very least, have raised a giggle.

Yes I meant to point out that a nuns convention would require a lot more than one dildo, and yes it raised a smile, but nothing else :emoticon-0116-evilg

I never worked out what he was supposed to be doing - he was supposed to be an striker's coach, yet we regularly have one of the most piss-poor returns from our strikers of all Premier League teams.

  18. Exactly the point of my OP.

  19. Not if they took turns.

After all, patience is a virtue, even if frotting oneself senseless on a "black mamba" isn't.

IIRC, he wasn't even a full-time forwards coach - which would explain how one week we put nine past Wigan one week but just the one against Villa the next...
