Pretty difficult one since everyone was decent without being outstanding. My vote: Mcgregor Livermore Elmo
Do you think Koren was as bad as Chester, Sagbo, Figueroa or Meyler? Meyler was abysmal, utter ****e in fact. He lost the ball twice in the first five minutes and put us under pressure. His passing was laughable as well. I have also never seen Chester skinned as many times in one game. I could go on. Yep Koren was poor but so we're most of the team IMO. Just not at the races at all.
Chester was shocking today. Didn't think Meyler was that poor, did some good work breaking up play. 1) McGregor 2) Davies 3) Bruce
I've been really disappointed in Figueroa this season, I expected more from him when he signed, but his distribution is shocking and he gets skinned far too often for my liking. Not getting the Koren hate, he wasn't great but then at least he tried to get on the ball and make things happen, and I think we're a better side with him in it.
1 McGregor 2 Elmo 3 Boyd Thought it was a decent team effort against a team which cost a kings ransom to assemble and has a great chance of finishing in the top three this season.Perhaps I am more easily satisfied than some on this board or it may be I am more realistic about the team Steve is assembling. This is a work in progress and in cash terms we are very much the poor relations.
1 McGregor, some super saves, Myhill is no longer our best ever 'keeper, the one thing that really impresses me about McGregor is his distribution, we quite often pass back to him and unlike most 'keepers he rarely takes a touch, never looks hassled or under pressure and I can't remember him spooning many out of play either. That really takes the pressure off our back 4/3 when they have the ball knowing he's such a safe option 2 Elmo, having seen over the pas t 10 years cole go toe to toe with some of the best wingers in the world and more than hold his own, it was a shoc to see Elmo so comfortably pull his pants down in the first 20, from then on Chelsea doubled up on him every time he got it. He put the ball in the box a few times too, just no one able to get onto it 3 no one - this isn't a criticism of the lads, I'm not going to start slagging people off for having an off day, I personally just don't feel that anyone else particularly stood out any more than the rest of the lads so no one else to me merits being ranked as 3rd
Just seen McGregor's save from point blank range, in the first half, fantastic is all i can say about it. Top keeper. 1-McGregor 2-Davies 3-Elmo I'd agree with the above. We had an off day. But it was always going to be tough against a team like Chelsea.
McGregor - Good effort in goal yet again Elmo - Good effort on the wing and a few good crosses Davies - Purely for that amazing block where he slid in out of nowhere The rest were fairly anonymous but I wouldn't say any of them had a bad game... just an average one against a very strong side
McGregor Davies Elmo Some of the best football came from Huddlestone, but by his high standards, there were a few too many loose balls, Chester and Koren were really poor today.
McGregor Elmohamady Davies No one really outstanding. No one particularly poor. Once Chelsea scored we were struggling to get a foothold in the game. If Sagbo had done better with his gifted chance then we could have got something but until we start to snap up chances like that we're going to struggle against top sides.
