Just heard Brian's post match interview. For the first time Brian may be slightly fearful for his job. 'I know I can do this job... I just hope I'm given the time'...
We're sorry, we shouldn't have been so nasty selling you Kilkenny, you shouldn't really old grudges though
Funny how many wums come out of the woodwork to stick the knife. I guess they don't think we realise we are ****e and think we need reminding. t*ssers
Bullshit like the players are tired and then plays same team in a meaningless cup game. Bullshit like playing Byram in carling cup match and resting him in the league. Bullshit like signing hunt and giving diouf half a season off to do as he pleases. Or maybe persisting with a totally out of form Austin. There's no end to it
How does that excuse the ****e attitude of the players who have no desire to actually move into space or keep marking their players? There's no chasing lost causes or going for interceptions. They are getting the simple stuff wrong because they can't be arsed. Why is that the manager's fault?
Because the manager sets the standard of what he expects - and coaches them in a way of playing. If the standard of playing, the lack of football ability, the lack of running off the ball, the inability to know what is a good strong tackle versus an illegal one, the lack of passion, the lack of stamina, the lack of team-ethics, inabilty to pass, inability to hold off players and go past them, the inability to pass and turn and run to collect a return in space, are all parts of what he teaches them, then he is not doing his job. I was thinking that this was exactly the time that he will be fearful. New bosses with expectations just at a time when the team appears to be falling apart and unable to deliver anything remotely resembling football, fans on his back, and little appears to be changing in relation to the team looking like it might gel at any time in the near future, then he is under pressure
But what's the point of getting rid of him? Get rid of him and we're back to square one, AGAIN. Why should the manager be teaching them to do stuff they learnt in the ****ing academy?
The managers does the buying, sees them everyday in training, picks the team and gets paid a hell of a lot of money in the process. It's not all his fault but he sure as hell has to shoulder a lot of the responsibility for this seasons rubbish
Was Matt Smith's attitude in actually challenging a player to try and put them off and put them under pressure an example of a ****e attitude? I think it was you that saids he shouldn't have gone for it and it was a bad thing to do - any player of mine that does not go for a ball like that to try and at least pressure the opposition is at fault, not Smith. No arms raised, not aiming for the man, he was hard done to.
It has only been rubbish when the best players have been tired or when we've been playing fringe players though... because our squad is full of ****e. His options are slim. What's he supposed to do? Put players like Varney in? Players who are ****ing useless?
Stop making poor excuses and bringin in straw man arguments. Playing 3 CBs, 2 WBs, 2 wingers, 2 midfielders and a small guy up front who needs service and people running in alongside him is the most ridiculous line-up I have ever seen. And you can look back at page 2 before kick=off where I said pretty much the same. That is down to the manager - I expect more, I don't expect him to panic as he appears to be doing
Best players tired............ffs only just over half way through the season and without any cup runs. My heart bleeds for them
If the players aren't doing what the manager tells them to do, then he should get rid and get players who will if its the manager who tells them not to chase, pass and move, mark the opposition etc then he should go, the question is who fault is it. I wrote a post ages ago, before he signed for us, about McD being a good manager, but he seems a too nice a man, I would have been going ****ing going apeshit on the touchline watching my players play like that, he just seemed to be lost . **** knows who's fault it is, but those players don't seem bothered
McDermott is totally to blame. McCormack isolated up front, two unfit wingers, two wing backs, our best wingback Byram sitting on the bench alongside McDermott's £1m pound signing Murphy...totally inept management.
Except the problem was the same as it's been for weeks and the same as it was under Warnock, they aren't creating space for themselves or their team mates, making it easy for opposition teams to close us down and put 2 or 3 players on each man. Every pass forward seemed to be to someone in no position of real danger, or it got intercepted, because they are easy to intercept. We're starting to see the real Danny Pugh again, but is Warnock any better? No. Reckless and prone to lapses in concentration. Can't cross, not very fast. Etc. Austin looks crap, who do we put in? Brown? Lol. Tonge? Done nothing. Norris? Green? Don't make me laugh. Only real option is Murphy and he's knackered as well. Who have we got up front to replace Smith or McCormack? Varney? Varney is always, always offside. He's clumsy and useless at anything other than jumping. But if he's offside all the time, means **** all really. Byram doesn't look the same player. Peltier just plane isn't good enough. McDermott's comments about the squad not being "a couple of players shy of a promotion challenge" is very telling, he doesn't have very much confidence in his squad players or even a lot of his first team. I don't expect us to get promoted this season, I didn't at the start of the season and I still don't. He's still going to get it wrong before he gets it right, that's how people learn, by making mistakes, by trying things. There's a lot more stuff that doesn't work than that does work, so it's only sensible that it will have to be sifted through. Patience is required. I don't want to have another goddamn manager by the summer and have to go through all this AGAIN. Impatience is a quality of children. Are you children? No. So stop ****ing acting like it
Sounds like you're the one who's throwing his toys out the pram. We've just suffered our worst league defeat for 55 years, we're entitled to discuss it. It's a forum after all.
