If he's out of contract he is entitled to speak to other clubs now isn;t he due to the bosman ruling? From January. If so then give him a call and arrange his summer transfer. That may give Brighton a kick up the arse

Rohan Ince who has been playing in the DM role while Bridcutt was out injured has signed a new contract this week so looks like you have more chance of getting him now they have more cover. I wasn't aware his contract was up and nothing's been mentioned about that in the local papers down this way (I live in Brighton). Think if you were to go anywhere over £3m then Brighton would sell.

Another that was linked with is Buckley who is a real talent. He didn't get as much limelight but was just as good as Zaha last year although he's had constant injury problems the last 2 years. If he can get over that you'd have a decent player on your hands but it's a bit gamble.

Surprised Gus hasn't gone in for Ulloa though. Big target man, decent goal scoring record, can play upfront on his own. If Fletcher was to go, he'd be a very good replacement <ok>

Brighton lost the game of bluff?

    http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/10931399.Bridcutt_could_still_leave_despite_Crofts_injury_blow/

ALBION boss Oscar Garcia says he cannot guarantee Liam Bridcutt will not be sold to Sunderland during the January transfer window.

Chairman Tony Bloom has stood firm so far, turning down a £2 million bid from Sunderland for the midfielder and a transfer request he submitted last week.

Albion’s midfield options were reduced yesterday when Andrew Crofts was ruled out for the rest of the season with a ruptured cruciate ligament suffered in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Birmingham.

But Crofts’ absence is unlikely to impact on Bridcutt’s future at the club.

A groin injury ruled Bridcutt out of Saturday’s game as they moved into sixth place, the first time they have been in a play-off spot in the Championship this season.

Oscar, asked whether he could offer assurances about Bridcutt staying, said: “I don’t think anybody can say that about any player, maybe Messi or Ronaldo, but all the other players have a price.

“But we want to keep him because he is one of our main players. He’s carrying a groin injury and he wasn’t 100%.”

Albion’s worst fears over Crofts were confirmed by a scan yesterday.

The six-goal midfielder stayed down after an innocuous attempt to tackle Birmingham substitute Reece Brown. He will undergo surgery this week with the target of being fully operational in time for pre-season in July.

Oscar, pursuing a striker to compensate for losing Ashley Barnes to Burnley, has now added a replacement for Crofts to his January shopping list.

The Seagulls’ head coach said: “I am very sad for him because he has been helping us a lot.

“He had a real desire to play all season because he didn’t play so much last season. He’s really been enjoying the training sessions and the games.”

Brighton boss Oscar Garcia insists he will have no qualms about picking want-away midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

Scotland international Bridcutt last week had a transfer request turned down amid reports former Seagulls chief Gus Poyet wants to sign him at Sunderland.

Bridcutt was missing from the Brighton side which beat Birmingham 1-0 on Saturday, but Garcia revealed afterwards he was injured.

"He is still carrying a groin problem and is not 100 per cent fit," said the Spaniard.

"He is a Brighton player and he will be available for selection when he is 100 per cent."

They need a striker sand a midfielder.

Why don't we arrange to loan some of our younger talent out to Brighton for the season like Watmore (he isn't ready for a premiership campaign yet whatever he did against Carlisle) and Karlsson and Ba for that matter.

We get Bridcutt and Buckley (who Gus really wants) and they get money and 3 cracking players. We also benefit as they are flying at the moment and a promotion run for all 3 of our young lads will be far better training than playing at Hetton on a Tuesday night surely? None of the 3 are likely to be featuring for us in the next 17 games.

    Win-win?
