I agree with most that we really need a win here as it's a potential banana skin of a fixture, which we generally don't do great in. It's basically an acid-test of our top-four credentials. No doubt most of our knockers and more pessimistic (or is that realistic?) supporters will be predicting a loss or a draw but I think we can get a result and win. We do, however, need to focus for the full game, defensively. With Stoke's aerial ability they can quickly nick a goal from corners, set-plays and even open play. Crouch will be a constant thorn in our defensive side in certain periods. A 4" and 7" advantage over Skrtel and Toure, respectively, is not to be sniffed at -- despite some people's reservations about Crouch's ability in the air! How many times do former players come back to haunt their previous club? One thing to be happy about is that their form player is out as he's still (contractually) our player! I'm looking forward to this game. Admittedly through my fingers, but looking forward to it all the same!
It's pessimistic. (I'm not accusing you, or anyone, btw, just answering the question). Most people who predict a loss or draw will say they're only being "realistic", but "reality" is that anything can happen, so anyone predicting a win is being optimistic, anyone predicting a loss is being pessimistic.
I agree saint. That's why I phrased it as I did. Does predicting a draw, by a process of elimination, mean you are being realistic? In this case it actually translates as pedantic. I'm a born pedant. And procrastinator as well, apparently. I always thought they were time travel devices used by the monks of time. #Pratchettrules!
