Wow, looks like Leicester are starting to run away with it at present. I do hope we start to respond and they have there blip period of the season. I would also be very happy with 2nd place. Correct me if I'm wrong but I tend to notice the 2nd place promotion teams seem to do better. Is it that there is less pressure as coming up the champions? Anyway I'm no expert on this so I won't ramble on any more. Tomorrow it's time to Come On U Rssss!
Derby forum threads, "Is the honeymoon spell over?", "Potential Derby County collapse...". Lovely jubbly!
"Leicester increased their lead at the top of the Championship table to seven points with a blistering attacking display and stylish victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Derby County. The margin of victory in a thoroughly one-sided promotion derby could and should have been far greater. But having seen his side completely outplay one of the their main promotion rivals and make it eight wins in nine matches against the Rams, Foxes boss Nigel Pearson is unlikely to be concerned." http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25584318 David Nugent obviously enjoys chasing Rams rather than the Loftus Road Squirrel? I believe that is 9 penalities scored so far this season in a 16 goal total. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Well done Leivester...looked good in 2 games all season now....wow..! i dont understand the giving up bull... you lot get on players backs when they give up, but are ready to crown a side that luckily beat us a Champions?..Double standards i believe. We ARE as good as them and proved it. Why on earth would you think they can win the title based on one great performance? Long way to go yet, and although they look good..THEY WILL LOSE A GAME BETWEEN HERE AND THE END OF THE SEASON. You can quote me on that if you like. Would that make the team that beats them the new champions then? Get behind our boys and give them a chance !
I haven't given up on the title; but Leicester did look good last night. There is still a long way to go. Three points today for the Hoops and we are "only" five behind them. The pressure has shifted!
Queenie don't be bitter. Up to this point we have been the best team by a million miles. There not my words they words from Mick McCarthy, Dougie Freedman and may other managers and the media. You don't need the best players to have the best team. Something which between us and yourselfs we have proven Still a very long way to go though. With 2 new signings now and with last season we couldn't be prepared any better to go all the way
Leicester played v well last night. What impressed me most was your work rate. Your team pressed high as a unit. IMO we have a better team on paper but seem to be playing with restraints on. We are dominating teams possession wise (including yourselves) but actually creating little. What gives me hope is that we are still very much up there and haven't even hit second gear yet. Well done to Pesrson, he has Leicester playing well but if Harry stumbles on our best team we will win this league
If football was played on paper you wouldn't even win the league as you wouldn't ever of got relegated last season. You team is disfunctional and will remain that way for a very long time until someone comes in and has a major clear out and starts again. The main trait you need in this league is the ability to win games while you not at your best. We have that while you don't. You have a lot of players but very few game plans. IMO unless you improve significantly I fancy Burnley to take 2nd and you lot in the play offs. Burnley like us really want this. Only half your team looks even remotely interested in promotion and the club
Proud. i most certainly am not bitter mate, and maybe you should have a look at the praise I gave you on your own board re: the game? Spend a bit more time doing your job rather than on here might stop you making yourself look silly I accept the appology any time you wish to post it...PM or public is fine by me
You are probably correct with that mate, but remember, its alsoonly half way through the season...and right now positions inside the top 6 is all that matters. The rest are prob gone. e've got here playing badly, whilst yourselves & Burnley have peaked. got to wonder if its to early though? is this a sprint or a marathon? Last night you loked good, but so did we at the start of the season. Itll all count for nothing in 4 months time when we get to the pointy end of the season. most of us as QPR fans have learned to keep our mouths closed about positions and form as it usually bites you on the arse..a lesson i fear you may end up learning the hard way Good luck but watch your backs....you have a target on your heads right now...we're coming
Can't agree with this. We had the vast vast majority of our clear-out last summer. Harry may be a gangster but he knows his football. Our defence has been very good this year with clean sheets galore. Our problem has been not scoring enough. We outplayed you for very long speeds LR. Not bitter just fact. Goals win games, you're scoring loads but we're not at the moment
Not much to argue with here. The bit that caught my eye was "the ability to win games while you not at your best". True of any league, but do we really know what our best is? Were we picking up wins at the beginning of the season despite not being at our best, or was that our best? Maybe the match against Derby was us at our best, or is it still to come? I still can't decide if the team is dysfunctional or if they are being hamstrung by a "safety first" indoctrination.
Barton has said that we have not played to our potential all season, and I think he's right. We should be doing better with this squad.
Why do you think we've not played to our potential? Do you think it is because the players abilities don't compliment each other and so the total is less than the sum of the parts? Is it because the tactics are too restricting? Maybe because they are not as good as their reputations suggest? Maybe the coaching and fitness levels aren't right? Any ideas?
Roller, i think mate, that harry plan has been to get us to jan window in the top 6. He's done that now and cant wait to see the plan for the rest of the season. I remenber watching Man Utd who were never brilliant in the first half, nut had a totally difrent game plan in pt2.. Lets get up and after Leicester now. They won at our place, fair enough, but were nothing to be scared of at all Pretty sure we had a good few saved on the line 7 when thier luck does run out, they are gonna go in for us
Leicester may be the best team so far but we have been awful all season and we are 3rd with a game in hand. If we carry on as we are, we will miss the playoffs but we should be champions if we ever click. Saying that I dont think we will ever click because of redknapp.
