So Jermain Defoe thinks life will be better in Toronto, eh?

Think again, Jermain. Beware where you tread...

Perhaps £££££ had a bearing on his move to an inferior league.

Stupid move, could have still done a job for the majority of teams in the Premier League, including Tottenham. Would have happily had him at Newcastle.

    Honestly.. I never rated him.
He didn't contribute to the team apart from goals and apparently had a rotten attitude off the pitch too.

Heard he wasn't the most popular in the changing room.

a contract in his pocket worth an estimated £20m + any £'s from endorsements etc.
new life in Canada away from the thrust of English football.
in reality most football fans over here will think he's bottled it and ran away to the MLS for an easy life, until he retires an even richer man than he already is.

but like it shows on the video in the OP he better beware where he walks.

Not much bothered about Defoe, he'll miss England more that we'll miss him.

Have heard bad things about him off the pitch but if he knuckled down and behaved for a year or two he was been a very good signing.

He's only gone for £60k a week. Would have liked him here for that. He's a bit of a handful.

Surely he could still do a job for over half the teams in the Premiership?
His international career now over (arguably was before)
If this move is solely about money then I have little respect - if however it's about a lifestyle change and trying something new, then good luck to him

He certainly hasn't moved to progress his career.

I've visited a large number of places over the years, but nowhere spoke to me so clearly as Vancouver as a place I'd happily live. If I were 20 years younger, I'd move there. Sure, there are more beautiful, more interesting, more historic, and more exciting places. But for overall sheer liveability, then it's Vancouver for me.
Toronto seemed like a second rate Chicago to me.

I'm not surprised as this one has been doing the rounds for a while. If I was a professional footballer however I would want to be playing at the top level possible for as long as I could. Controversial I know but I think hr would of been a good option for Arsenal. A loan until the end of the year would of helped ease their lack of strikers. He may not give a lot else to the team but at the end of the day he is a quality finisher. Not many of those about.

If we had kept hold of Carroll then I think Defoe would have been an ideal strike partner to have alongside him.

But then again, if we had held on to Carroll, then we wouldn't have half the current squad.
