DL, 95% of the people i know are United supporters (i live in Manchester you see) and i can honestly say i never heard one of them say they wanted Jose as manager (many other names were mentioned and a few even said Moyes would be a good choice) most of them thought Jose would be a terrible choice who would give us 2-3 years of successful but boring football then move on. We were all hoping for a bit of continuety of style and some stability.
For the ******ed deluded scouser's information: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...hester-united-job-to-david-moyes-8843992.html
You have to be offered something before you can turn it down so the answer to your question is NO Jose said himself that he was never offered the United job.
Yep. The deal (to Chelsea) was all but concluded by January. The pro-Man U media falsified the story about them rejected Mourinho to save face. Given Ferguson didn't announce retirement plans to Gill until February and Mourinho till March + publicly in May that story is improbable. What's more is the Glaziers didn't want Moyes, they wanted Mourinho and Joel Glazier wanted to meet with but by then he already had a verbal agreement with Abramovich to go back to Chelsea. That comes directly from a reputable source from their very own "Red Issue".
Poor reply Chris, that is based on heresay. I prefer the words direct from the man himself who when asked directly in an interview "were you ever offered the Manchester United job" replied "no"
Fair enough Diego but a lot of the plastics wanted Jose http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4920134/Sun-poll-Fans-want-Jose.html even if real fans didn't
Real fans want whats best for united. What that is can change over time. The tiny minority who wanted moyes are now trying to convince themselves that hes still the man for the job. That will last a few weeks more at most.
Where's the logic in this, you've just said in this post we're a bigger club than Madrid but Madrid are a bigger club than you
Absolutely. The chavs fans must be quaking in their boots. Funnily enough, they ought to pray that Moyes does well and doesn't get sacked. If United come calling, Maureen will drop the chavs and immediately go to the bigger club and the job he has ALWAYS coveted.
I'm sure Jose would love to manage a great club like United but he likes living in great cities too. Is that what you want? Moyes out. Jose in?
