There is only one team which can compete with us next season and that is City. We are going to buy some good players and our younger players like Jones, Smalling the twins and even Anderson are all going to improve and Rooney won't be having a season like this season. He will be much better and Valencia will be back as well. We will also sign a midfielder to improve our midfield area which will enhance us greatly. Chelsea are a side which need to spend extensively this summer as their squad is aging and in decline. Lampard has peaked, Drogba can't play week in week out. Torres is not the same player and is not good enough anymore and Terry is getting worse, Cole is getting far worse and Essien is not the same player and Anelka is getting older as well and has peaked, the same can be said for Malouda who has looked poor this season. The likes of Ramieres and Mikel look poor. All these old players has resulted in Chelsea decline and it was inevitable. Their owner never lets managers settle and with all this interference and need of 6 or 7 top players in the summer leads me to believe they won't be title rivals next season. Arsenal have not progressed and Wengars ideology is at fault, they quite clearly need some steal in midfield and at the back, but will he admit he was wrong? No he won't because his ego is to big. The problem is, his stars are getting tired and the question is not if their top players will leave but how many. Nasri is wanting out, Fabregas is a matter of time and maybe even RVP. With their stubborn manager and with players leaving I can't see how they will compete but they will fight it out for a top 4 place though. Wengar manages that very well. Man City, though is another story, they will go from strength to strength after this season and they will be big rivals. They will compete for the top 2 places and will have a major say in where the title goes and I would put them as possible favorites depending on whether they keep Tevez or not but regardless, they will occupy the top 2 places. They are a side which will progress and it is a question of time when they win their first Premier League title. The likes of Liverpool and Spurs are not rivals and I believe they will make up the 4th 5th and 6th places with Arsenal.
Chelsea will be up there again, and city could do well, could flop. We'll know 5 games into next season
United19Red: If you don't agree with any of my articles why the **** do you read them or click on them? You very well know I have written them. I don't need to get into any feud with your sort because you are not worthy of my time.
Stopped reading after that...ramieres has been one of chelseas best players in the 2nd half of the season and has looked a hell of a lot more impressive than anderson, and yet you think anderson will improve and those two wont. wow.
For a Benfica fan, you seem to spend a lot of time on the Man United board praising Chelsea players....
Macc Town will present more of a threat that Citeh! I have a gut feeling tat Liverpool will indeed improve next season, and agree with the OP that Chelsea will have to invest more than us if they want to keep up with the ever growing pack>
Nohlman I absolutely hate the way you make an article as if you think your word is gospel. The fact is you do not know what is going to happen next season. Nobody does. The league is likely to be contested by at least 4 teams up until January at the very least. Didn't you predict Chelsea would win the league in February? I rest my case.
alot of time huh? See i've only posted twice on this board about chelsea players, firstly the first one was on me commenting on how i believe terry is better than ferdinand, its not really praising, its more an opinion. its like if i said Jonnhy evans is better than bramble, but i still feel their both crap, it wouldnt be praise would it? and this time i posted on ramiers being better than anderson, cause in my opinion he is, and has looked far better albeit i am biast in this case, judging by what team he played for before chelsea, and while its just my opinion, most "football" fans would agree, not united, but football fans who have watched both teams play. maybe im just an unbiast person who watchs the premier league. And for your information i post in every board pretty much. on topics that im intrested in. and not only do i not agree city will be uniteds only rivals i just find it irratating how incrediablly biast this guy is. He doesnt watch any other teams play by the looks of it yet comments that players look poor compared to united players. Also its funny how every man united fan is commenting on how good phil jones is because they think hes joining him, but if by some miracle he went to liverpool or arsenal, you guys would comment on him just like you comment on henderson. Albeit henderson is not worth 20m, but neither is phil jones, not even with the current inflation of the market.
I agree Nolhman, I expect City to be our main challengers. Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and 'Pool to go for the other 2 CL places.
City won't hoover up points against lesser opposition. They'll be there, but they won't win the league.
I think Chelsea will be our main challengers. I expect some extravigant moves in the transfer market from them when the new manager comes in. I think Sneider will go there and maybe one or two other big names. Roman showed his intent in January when he signed Torres and Sideshow Bob
Nolhman, you really have got to stop posting this garbage. We are going to buy some good players ************ We are going to sign Ashley Young, who you think he's a waste of money. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/waste-of-money Also along with Jones and De Gae who you state here... "Those 3 won't improve us in anyway which is frustrating" http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/the-young-transfer?xg_source=activity You also think that Valencia and Hernandez are "technically inferior players" I could go on.....
