Can't argue there, that's the first time I'd seen Cantona in the flesh, what a player.

For sheer entertainment and because I was a complete neutral ( helped that it was free as well ) its got to be Blackburn v Leeds in 1997.

3-4 to Leeds by half time. Second half was poor mind.

Probably <laugh> first cup final I'd ever been to (with my Dad telling me we probably wouldn't get to another for a while! Glad he was wrong) only to get spanked 4-0.

Back in 2003, which was basically a shoot-out for the covetted SPL title.

Rangers and Celtic went into the final game of the season having won 30, drawn 4 and losing 3 games each, both sides had a +68 goal difference albeit Rangers had scored and conceded an extra goal. Celtic were arriving back into the game after narrowly being beaten by Jose Mourinho's Porto in the Uefa Cup final.

What a day at Ibrox vs Dunfermline, everyone was fraught with nerves as Rangers, scored, then Celtic scored, so on a so forth, Dunfermline actually equalised to make it 1-1 and it felt like the end of the world... at one point, when it was 3-1 to Rangers and 3-0 to Celtic, Alan Thompson missed a penalty for Celtic and a minute later, Ronald De Boer scored for Rangers..... going into the last minute, it was 5-1 to Rangers and 4-0 to Celtic meaning Rangers were going to win the league courtesy of scoring an extra goal as both sides had the same +72 goal difference before Neil McCann was fouled in the box for a penalty which was duly slotted away by a 20 year old Mikel Arteta to scenes of utter chaos as Ibrox erupted....

    Those were the days :(

The second penalty was a bit soft <laugh>

Although the lad could have been giving a prison sentence for the ''challenge'' for the first penalty <laugh>

First defo a pen. At 1-0 anything could have happened and we'd been the better side in the first half. 2nd pen completely killed the game for us and as underdogs we collapsed. Never forgave Ellery for that!! Thankfully we made amends 3 years later...

Did gavin peacock, United's nemesis hit the cross bar at 1-0?

Best games: Chelsea 5-0 Leeds to get promoted 84, pitch invasion and stoning the Leeds under sharia law (naughty naughty)
Beating Liverpool 4-2 in 78 and 2-0 in 82 in the Cup

Worst: losing to palace in the cup 76, spurs 82, Sunderland away milk cup semi 84.
    All of 78/9 season

I actually remember listening to the first leg on the radio. Their second was quite late on, long range shot or free kick, can't recall exactly.

I already had my ticket (£1.80) so we were just thinking it'll be a good night football, see what this Maradona **** is all about. What a ****ing match that was!

Great memories. But ****ing too rare under Fat/Big Ron unfortunately. I remember his teams as the most erratic and inconsistent ever. One week they would beat the best and the next he would be beaten by the worst.

    The team;

    Gary Bailey
    Mike Duxbury
    Kevin Moran
Graham Hogg (weak link. Paul McGrath either injured or pissed)
    Arthur Albiston
    Arnold Muhren
    Bryan Robson
    Remi Moses
    Ray Wilkins
    Frank Stapleton
    Norman Whiteside

    Sub - Mark Hughes.

How in the name of **** were we not competing for the league with a side like that? How?

True. Fat Ron's sides were flamboyant. I'd give him that but we always had the impression that his sides would win cups. He never had the grinding regularity or predictability of Ferguson. He brought Moses and Robson from WBA where he had been managing and I thought he found the missing pieces. And when he ****ing won the first 12 matches one season I thought that's it. But he still ****ing didn't do it. His extracurricular activities with the physio's wife was the last straw and was an excuse to get rid of him.

Not kidding at all, Remi Moses was brilliant.

Was 4 4 2, Whiteside played off Stapleton and Wilkins came in off the left. Very fluid team though of course!

I doubt it was live, more than likely highlights.
