They all play for pretty unfashionable clubs so it's hard to call, normally that's the way to judge (unless they have an incredible scoring record or something). Personally, I'd have gone for Dyer myself but I think Drinkwater has earned it from his contributions so far. He impresses me every time I see him.
I don't get the player of the month. Wickham is nominated coz he scored 4 goals, well Ross outscored him (a couple of em were magic) and I'm sure he wasn't even the top scorer in december...
I realised that. No idea how they arrive at the shortlist, its obviously not just on goals scored but overall contribution & impact.
Did he come from Manc Poo ? He´s one of a few I´d take with me to the prem (IF we ever get there & I was the manager )
Yes he did ... along with Matty James and Richie De Laet (also Richie Wellens started there) ... and let's not forget that Jeff Schlupp was a 'trialist' there last season ...
MOTM curse didn't work on Garcia for our game last month, fingers crossed its more effective on the man with the brolly tonight
I'm going to bet Drinkwater will get sent off but we'll still win! I had a dream last night that we'd win 3-1, incidentally, and that Drinkwater would score. I'd be happy with that (however, in the dream I also turned up 3 hours late for the game, missed it and ended up watching the live tour of Strictly Come Dancing!).
Done! Incidentally, how good was Drinkwater on Friday! I tried counting the number of times he retained the ball compared to losing it, didn't misplace a pass until well past the half hour mark when Will Hughes kicked him in the back of the leg. I'd have Drinkwater over both Hughes and Bryson on that performance.
For me DD has been our player of the season up to now,I know Dyer,Vardy etc have had a storming start but when DD plays well, the team does. If Hughes from Derby is allegedly worth 10-12 million what price on DD?
He made Hughes look very average on Friday, but for me Hughes can have better games than DD, although DD is more consistent and does what he does well, hes in the kind of Scholes role where he does everything right, but he doesn't usually get noticed doing it.
