Ben Smith from The Times has tweeted that Chelsea have tried to lure Steve Clarke back as a coach but he has flatly refused citing that he "will not be leaving Liverpool anytime soon"
well RA has burned his bridges with steve clarke.... lets be fair here. the guy wants a full time managers job eventually. he may well get it here eventually! RA sacked the guy and he wont go there, wilkins would be mad to go back as well if he gets a contract with sky.
Steve Clarke's a class act. He's very, very good at what he does. I believe he'll love the spirit and tradition at Liverpool. He'll certaily understand what Kenny (and apparently the owners) are about and what the path to new glory will involve. I'm sure he wants to be a big part of all of what's happening. Fair play Clarkey!
He can see that KK & the owners are intent on actually building something for the future and wants to be a part of it. Totally unlike the uncertainty that manifests itself around the Bridge - and will by its very nature continue to do so.
It makes you wonder about how important the people below the manager are. Clarke & Chelsea's success Jose with Villas Boas Paco & Rafa
paco and rafa is a good point.... all managers need someone they trust who bascially tells them whe nthey are nuts.... the damned utd is a film that is critisied rightly by cloughs family but it makes the point well. I don't know clarke well or his future or ours but i think i know enough to say that anyone experiencing the heavy hand of ambramovich and his whims won't go back.
I feel he is the under-rated part of the backroom team. He's done an excellent job with King Kenny and I hope he stays for a long time and can help us bring success to Liverpool FC.
Kenny got it 100% spot on.A bit like the old days.Steve Clarke can be Ronnie Moran to Sammy Lees' Roy Evans.I'll tell you why.The players will respect Steve Clarke but say how high when he says jump. With Sammy he's the father figure, the best friend, the problem he has is he can't do nasty, its not in his nature. He's just too much of a nice bloke.
just like the old bootroom. when kenny does call it a day clarke is ready to continue on Edit damn you kpr
His estimations carry far more weight than they did at Chelsea. He has more influence in decisions too I reckon, noone at chelsea wants tp upset RA in any way,as they get "liquidated"
Yeah exactly, like it used to be. A well oiled machine that just carries on regardless as everyone knows what their job is.
Seems more likely mate It'll be too soon for Carra to leap instantly into the hot seat. Let him learn the ropes under Clarke, blood him for the future.
You make it sound like that was his choice. Carra needs to prove himself before getting the reins. Having the heart of a lion is not enough, as Stuart Pearce has admirably displayed.
