Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup rules out recalling Sunderland's Ki Sung-Yueng despite injury crisis By South Wales Evening Post | Posted: January 10, 2014 Michael Laudrup says the club won't be recalling Ki Sung-Yueng from his loan stint at the Stadium of Light. MICHAEL Laudrup has ruled out recalling Ki Sung-Yueng despite an injury crisis which has left Swansea City counting heads for tomorrow's trip to Manchester United. South Korean international Ki has been one of the star performers at Sunderland since joining the Black Cats on a season-long loan in August. Swansea have an option to recall Ki now as part of the agreement which took him to the North East â but Laudrup feels it would be unfair on the player to bring him back to Wales. Swansea are without seven senior stars for this weekend's Old Trafford rematch, meaning the likes of Lee Lucas, Rory Donnelly and Dai Cornell may feature on an inexperienced bench.
You're right there mate, can you imagine how we'd feel if the headline was. "Ki recalled!" There's a rumour that Laudrup dislikes the player on a personal basis and we have to hope we can sign him permanently.
He's perfect for Poyet, Sunderland and the supporters .......... fits in with the style of play, established in the UK and we can all spell his name
That's what I read. Terrific news, almost better than a new signing. Borini won't be recalled either. Now for the 'missing link' players....come on SAFC, give us some good news on the new AM/Number 10 we're recruiting.
Laudrup has to dislike him not to recall him, I'd say put something in place for the summer so we can buy. Probably signing him and Giacherrini the only two decent things PDC done
Ki is an outstanding footballer who stands out a mile from the shower of ****e midfielders brought to the club by Bruce.
I don;t think "loan to buy" clauses are possible in England between two PL clubs. This was something I read up on a few years ago - it is only possible to "loan to buy" from abroad (like we have with Celutska, Elmohamaddy etc)
Only problem there is if Laudrup moves on as is rumoured, ****ing hope not like, Ki is a 'break the bank' signing for me.
I honestly think that with better players around him he'd be even better and much more effective. A lad I live with is an Arsenal fan and we watch a lot of footie together (football is better than uni work) and he says he'd have him at Arsenal in a heart beat. And that's saying something with their midfield.
I don`t know the legal side of these things but is there a reason why we can`t make an offer to convert the loan to permanent now?
