Sympathy to all those suffering from the floods.

I live on top of a hill, it is the snow that does for me; we get stuck in our village as all the road out of the village become impassable.

Yeh, good luck to you all. I was in London and the SW around Christmas and saw many flooded roads from water running off waterlogged fields down there. Didn't look like too much more could be handled.

Im Right next to the river on the isle of dogs, was reading the barrier had been up for the tenth tide in a row yesterday - and it had only been raised 120 times in anger in the previous 30 years!

Yeah, he tried to ride his bike through the flood waters and got washed away. He'd probably done it several times before, but this time it was higher and faster!!
We had further, more light rain last night. I think it will be next week before it starts to improve.
BTW........I live near the Thames, but I'm not alongside it and not in danger of being flooded. It is affecting my work though.

My son played football on Abingdon Town's ground a few weeks ago. It is now under 3 feet of water and resembles a swimming pool!

No issues for me as I'm up on a hill, but the parklands and surrounding villages are all pretty much under water. One village (Cookham) is almost cut off to all but big 4x4's, with all three main roads under water and the bridge over the Thames closed.

Like Roller, it's the snow that gets us, I need to get through three or four roads before I hit any gritted surface, and last winter had problems just getting off the drive...

Checked the level today and it was 3-4 inches up on yesterday and only 2-3 inches below the 2003 level. Hopefully that's the end of the rise!

No problems here despite living less than a mile off the coast. Living at the top of a mini hill helps.

Sorry lads but a tsunami is the only way they water will get me!

My stepdaughter is currently in Lewisham - not in immediate flood danger but the roof of the house is leaking. The landlord says that there is a repair scheduled for Jan 17 but at last report they weren't prepared or able to move that date up. So, a flood of a different nature - starting on the third floor and working it's way down

All in all, I'd rather face the -25 and -30 of earlier this week than clean up after a flood

Latest thinking is that the Thames still has some way to go before it reaches its peak!! Due to all the water still running down into it. Bloody hell!
