i have recently been sent a few celtic books for my e reader. just read the paul larkin's book by any means necessary. has any one else read it? I wanted to like it more than i did, i guess i bought into the hype on twitter/podcasts

others that i have been given are charlie tully, celtic's cult heros, celtic in the 80's and classic season 67-68. anyone read any of them and would recommend one?

Paul Larkin wouldn't know the truth if hit him , his first book was one lie after another lie , he used to go on our bus and in its thirty six years of running is the only guy to get a life ban .

i read it, was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. he does mention owing cash to the supporters bus, this differs from harry saying he stole money from it.

Got told in his latest book , he pretended to be me.Partizan Belgrade game away in Mostar , I went by bus , 48 hours there , 48 hours back but seemingly he claimed to have been there , listened to my stories and now put them in print . Believe me every word he says is a lie . The only person ever to be barred for life from our supporters club thats being going for over 40 years .

Today he's written an article that has appeared on celtic twitter and newsnow celtic .An obituary to a member of our bus that died today . Old Archie was coming up 92 , who saw celtic under every manager we had , watched our team for 85 years even last season he attended EVERY game we played in Scotland . His health turned for the worse at the start of the season and last time he saw his beloved hoops was up in Aberdeen . A true celt that I have known for 35 years , RIP

    Archie Wright 1922-2014

It was with great sadness that I learned today of the passing of Archie Wright. Archie was one of the finest Celtic I ever met, perhaps even the best. My Grandfather on my dad's side passed away when I was very young but Archie more than filled that role. A best pal of my dad Jim The Tim, who passed away in 1998, and my Uncle Francey, Archie was a real force of nature. He came from Glasgow but lived in Edinburgh longer than I have yet still had an incredible west coast accent.

For years I sat on Archie's knee on the supporters bus and was lifted over turnstiles all over Britain by him. He looked after me more than anyone did at games and we used to stand in front of the number 2 at Celtic Park. Archie was famous for his outburst that came every time the team emerged from the tunnel "nooooooow then the Celtic, still are THE TIMS"

He was the guy more than anyone who taught me that when we win, we aren't just beating the team in front of us.

His grandson, and lifelong friend, Mark told me yesterday that he was close to the end and I've not really been able to think about anything else since.

I could tell stories about Archie all day but here's one of my favourites. We were down at Love Street in April 1987 and, for the first time in nine years, it looked like Rangers would win the league. Unfazed, Archie kept telling me that if we scored three goals today, that would be 100 for the season. As the game wore on Archie kept telling me the steward along from us was definitely a hun. "He's wee and has the Tommy McLean type face" Archie kept offering up. The whole game Archie moaned about him until Brian McClair got the third goal and the magical 100 was achieved. As we all celebrated, Archie ran right up to the steward and said "There ye go ya humphy backed bastard, **** yer Rangers!"

Archie was one of the very best. I'll always love him and always miss him.

Gambol , see when somebody you know that dies give me a shout . I have travelled all over the world , drank in hundreds of pubs , been at family weddings / funerals with this man , this is a celtic forum and he followed his team for 85 years . Celtic acknowledged his efforts and once a season Peter Lawell would invite him to enjoy the hospitilty behind the scenes , he was like a second father to a lot of people and you never heard a bad word against him.

Old guy beelin all game about a steward, who was just standing there, because he thought he supported Rangers?

Sounds like a typical Celtic fan. Hates Rangers more than he likes Celtic.
