Would love a win but I think it's not going to be straight forward.. I predict a bloody tough game.. Hope we shade it but could see us walking away with just a point...
"dropping" points insinuates on some level those points are ours to lose. rather we start on zero and try in the game to gain as many as possible. I am confident that the stellar hughes and glen whelan, walters and "can't jump" crouch will give us a stern test stoke have 22 points they've won 5 out of 20... they've a record of 4-5-1 WDL at home with a mighty 11 goals scored and 7 conceded from that 10 games. 11 goals in ten games? the form book would therefore suggest that if LFC can actually get a goal on the road we've a chance of winning. stoke have lost 7 on the road thats their big issue so i am sure also they will be looking to perform and not just for a point. they need every home point they can muster to survive and they are going to struggle to get 40+ points. in short i'll state it one more time to annoy every bottom half team... the league form 10 to 20 are a total bunch of crap that if LFC want a 4th spot we need to be winning against. 10 Hull City 11 Aston Villa 12 Stoke City 13 Swansea City 14 West Bromwich Albion 15 Norwich City 16 Fulham 17 Cardiff City 18 Crystal Palace 19 West Ham United 20 Sunderland you guys tell me that this lot are not quite poor relative to the top 6... <laugh at Utd....
Worried. Stoke aren't great, but they don't lose much at home. Think we will draw this, we need a win though to keep up to and keep ahead of rivals.
the players should have no excuse. we can cobble a team together to include coutinho sturridge suarez and gerrard... henderson johnson skertl and toure... add mingloet in... lucas... and onyl cissohko as a worry. Sterling can play a bit for sturridge if thats the call. in short either we're good enough or not. if we can't play these sides 4 is off.. if a week off doesn't recharge the batteries enough to play stoke then it won't matter will it? I expect a win. "expect" = not assume, it means i expect our players to do their jobs they are so well paid for.... actually put the effort in.. we've suarez playing for us!
We should be quite capable of getting 3 points here, we've improved so much - yet there there seems to be so much doubt. These are the games we simply have to be winning. I think it's ours to win, and we will no problem.
True, but for me it's not arrogance. I believe we've improved so much that this should be a run of the mill win. But of course football is never that straight forward. But we should be more than capable imo.
I don't underestimate the destination but still also feel we must be winning these. stoke have'nt socre many at home, one a game type of thing but we REALLY need to get something here.
I think most would agree with this. Let's hope that we get our game plan right and the players and BR adapt to what happens on the pitch.....unlike at Hull.
Stoke at home are a different proposition to the away version, as we found out on New years day. We'd brushed them aside 4-0 only weeks prior at Goodison, but they gave us a really stern test at the Brit. They've only lost once at home this term & are very solid on their own turf, underestimate that at your peril.
you are of course right... i of course said that very thing when i gave their full home record. so.. RHC is also right
