"The Bayern Munich statement says: “Both in the past and in the current season, Bayern has thrilled European football not only by the outstanding performance and consistency of the team, but also by the fantastic and vocal support of our fans – as highlighted in the Champions League final and UEFA Super Cup final.”

Bayern continued: “It is worth mentioning the fact that a large number of Bayern fans not only support the team but also at every away game. The fact that this loyalty comes with such a high number of games not only means a great deal of time, but also tears a big hole in the wallet…”

62 pounds a ticket at Arsenal, works out at 75 euros. Bayern Munich will sell tickets in the Arsenal end to their fans for 45 euros."

Bayern Munich showing their class. A good example of a club giving back to their loyal fans.

They are amazing. They sell a few 100 (or is it 1000's) of season tickets at 200 euros a season to low income fans and make it back through corporate charges. They are also the highest generators in commercial revenue (maybe behind Utd) and re-distribute that to fans very well. Amazing club.

I think in England we are not allowed to do that. They are scared of a "Rent a mob" situation.

Subsidise the away ticket price for your fans.

Maybe not - But I thought I read something somewhere about the clubs agreeing not to do it. Maybe I just dreamed it - I'm getting old, it happens, memory plays tricks.

We are just not as vocal about it and obviously the press wouldn't report on the fact that Arsenal tickets are cheaper than many other clubs or that we subsidise the cost of an away ticket.

    http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/arsenal-to-subsidise-travelling-fans

"Arsenal’s travelling supporters will receive a £2.50 discount on every remaining away Premier League match ticket purchased this season."

I already knew about the £2.50<ok>
People also forget how many clubs charge us a lot more than we charge their fans

So you were just goading TT then?

That's because the press would never dare to be positive about Arsenal ticket prices.

Lol, are you being serious? A discount of 2.50?! All together if a fan went to every away game, he'd save 52.50, your average ticket price at Arsenal, 18 games to make up for 1 game, lol.

Btw, the reason Bayern get more attention is because OVERALL when it comes to pricing they are generous to their fans, lol you think the media will pay attention to a 2.50 discount when in general, Arsenal charge some of the highest home ticket prices, and also out of all clubs, we have the highest season ticket prices, I pay 1350 pounds a year for my ST, which I believe, is the highest ST price in comparison to all other clubs, and the 1350 a year isn't even the highest ST price at Arsenal.

If Arsenal want to make a real difference, reduce ST prices, nobody should be having to pay 1350, the MAX you should ever go is 1000, and then reduce all other ticket prices, nobody should be paying 90+ for a bloody A class fixture.

People go on about the C class fixture, but when you add it all up together, it all balances itself out with the very very high ticket prices category A fixtures sell for, as well as B.

But that is still about double the amount Bayern are giving to each of their travelling fans AND far less fans than regularly attend Arsenal away PL games?

So I'm struggling to see what Arsenal are doing wrong here.

You guys latch onto things you perceive to be negative about the club way too quickly and gleefully, for my liking.

Aren't you one of the ones that has been going on for years about how we need to sign the best players and pay them the best wages, so that we can compete to win trophies? Now you want them to give money away instead of signing players.

Are Bayern's home prices as high as ours?

Who said Arsenal are doing anything wrong? But to act like the 2.50 discount is something so great and to go on about as Arsenal being so generous, is a stretch, a huge stretch, when we pay the highest ST prices, and in general, are the most expensive team to watch in England. Yes, some of our tickets may sell cheaper than other clubs, but OVERALL, we are the most expensive team to watch in England.

But this all started because Bayern gave a discount to away fans. That is what we were discussing. It turns out Arsenal give a far bigger discount to their away fans and to more fans, but apparently that isn't as classy when Arsenal do it.

Now we can discuss why prices for everything in London are more expensive than elsewhere in the country, how Arsenal season tickets include more games than some other clubs, how Chelsea and City subsidize their teams with their owner's oil money, and basic supply and demand economics; all the things we have discussed a hundred times and you still fail to pick up on. But it really is just pointless.

On the upside, you do at least have a season ticket for Arsenal, your chances of getting a BM season ticket are minimal unless your grandfather was a BM fan. Any chance you could go "support" them and whine about that on their forums?

Bayern are doing that, but still not charging what we charge. You do know there are other ways of raising money without taking the bulk of it from fan's pocket.
