It was irrelevant because armed police aren't following you and your imaginary friends about, they are only interested in people who they think are armed and dangerous. No it doesn't - Police are empowered by law to ensure that those who break the law are punished and alos controlled in order to preserve public safety - that may involve them carrying firearms. Civilians are not entitled to go round carrying guns. The fact that a policeman may have made the worng call doesn't make it ok for criminals to go round taking potshots.
