Everton are preparing a £6 million bid for Norwich keeper John Ruddy as they search for a long term replacement for Tim Howard who is now 34. With the two sides facing each other this Saturday this move for the city stopper is sure to add extra intrigue to the fixture. When asked about the potential move, Ruddy did not deny the rumours, but said "Everton is a fantastic club with great supporters". The move is sure to upset City fans who see the goalkeeper a prize asset for the club.

Not beyond the realms of possibility I suppose.

Where did you get this? Given we (and by all accounts Ruddy) rejected a much bigger bid in the summer, Ruddy hasn't been in particularly strong form and goalkeepers can keep (hoho) going until close to 40, with some even improving as they reach their late 30s due to experience, I find this unlikely.

That quote came from the pre-match press conference. Like hell they'd have asked him if he was about to jump ship. What source is this BS coming from?

I was going to say similar, there's no way in the world Ruddy would have been selected to speak to the media at today's pre weekend presser if he was out of here anytime soon.

Preposterous. They'd have had Russ martin or someone in, surely?

Russ, Bassong, Olsson, Johnson, Redmond, Snodgrass are all likely to start and would have been fine choices. Ruddy no doubt chosen simply because he's ex-Everton, but nobody would have batted an eyelid if he wasn't chosen.

Tipsy is just doing a bit of his own journalism.... From what he said at the press conference, wouldn't put it past someone to come out with something similar in the media. Plus they already have Howard's replacement in that young Spanish keeper.

Not going to happen. Not for £6m.

Of course Ruddy is going to be polite about his former employers on the eve of our match against them. I can't imagine DM allowing JR to leave for sub £10m.

I remember when he use to say Norwich were clearly the best team in Suffolk, etc

That sod had me going once or twice <grr> <laugh> And not just me, either <ok>

haha na that wasn't me. And yes this is all bs. Was chatting with a colleague about how easy it would be to write for the gutter press, making up rumours however ridiculous they maybe. Maybe some Daily Mail scouts are reading haha It was a slow day at work!

Not a chance. Howard still has a few years and Martinez has 100% faith in Joel Robles.
