like i say there's nothing wrong with being avergae.

its only when you are the only option that it become a problem. first six months of rodgers with borini and sterling and suare on his own cost lfc badly. result was 7th and suarez biting someone. sturridge and coutinho

my matra: do not buy a player who's not better than what you have..... this is why rodgers shouldn't be totally lambasted, allen and borini were beter than the turds he inherited... however aspas was not, clearly not. thats why i don't get that one.

our next moves need to improve on aspas and borini.. and allen... which is why i thought the summer buy of aspas was a waste.

Borini in many ways was unfortunate last year.

    - He's clearly a confidence player.
    - He's young and (at the time) pretty much new to the league.
    - Was dropped into a struggling team, out of position, with an £11m price (and the 'exciting' player) tag on him.
    - Team picks up - Borini gets injured.
    - We sign Sturridge and Cou, and gain fluidity - Borini comes back, scores, gets injured.

Think he can come good. Will be Dirk Kuyt with designer stubble.

I'd like to add the age old wisdom:

Defenders and midfielders can sometime take seasons to adapt to a new league... however it is very rare for a forward who doesn't do well in their first season in England to do well ever.

There are exceptions... but unlike other positions... how well a striker does in their first season in England usually indicates if they will be worth it.

His all round game is pretty decent. His passing leaves lots to be desired while his strength and speed are surprising.

his passing will show a marked improvement when he returns. We're playing pass and move now and game by game he's getting better. Seems like we're helping you fill in the blanks with this lad. Appreciate the loan. <ok>

Glad he's improving, to be fair I've seen him a few times play for you lot and fit's the system quite well <ok>

Next year we'll take him back and you can take Aspas? Cut the middle men out and we're strike the deal now?

No offence intended but he'll be playing in a better team when he comes back, the quality of players surrounding him will help his passing game.

He's still not good enough at the moment though. Still young so worth bringing back but miles off being even a top 4 squad player IMO. Much rather we tried to shift him (if we can get a good price).

    Everyone stop insulting Aspas :(

We all say strikers need confidence and to play matches, he doesn't and when he gets twenty minutes we call him **** and stick the boot on him already.

    He will come good.

Don't see the relevance of your comment in any way. How's playing around better players next season going to help him in the next 4 and a half months? Sure you weren't trying to offend? You certainly don't make sense. <ok>

Better positioning, better movement, better awareness, better speed of other players will help him get more completed passes, needs to sort himself out too though.

Yes, in 6 months time when he returns to pre season training with Liverpool. But you haven't answered my question have you? I'll try again. How does all that help his development in the last 4 and a half months of this season? It doesn't does it?

By your logic Liverpool should have kept him where he'd struggle to make the bench and getting the odd sniff of development squad games. Ya daft knacker. <laugh>

Or you can just be honest and admit you couldn't resist posting an immature 'we're better than you' comment. ;)

    Think there's been a misunderstanding..

They're saying his passing seems a little suspect but he's showing signs of promise while on loan.

They're making the separate point that this passing could improve when surrounded by better players, with more time/space - next season.
