Jimmy kebe is on his way to TA for a medical as we speak (Pullis)

Cameron Stewart is now a done deal, completed an hour ago, and it seems we are trying to highjack Ashley Barnes from his transfer to Burnley. Fooking great day if this lot comes off, in fact I may come off myself <laugh>

If true Doc, this will represent a very good day. It will also allow BMD to change the formation again to 442 with one or two wingers playing out wide, Austin and Mowatt in CM, Byram and Pugh or Warnock at R & LBs still with an ability to support the attack should the situation arise. All in all, looking good.

Ashley Barnes plays for Brighton and I think we have our quota of wingers now so lets move on to ....Nakki Wells .By the way I think the wingers were brought in to give Smithy better service with Ross feeding of him just a thought .I also think that we should give these new boys every encouragement to do well
Good morning from a very peaceful Bardsey

Blimey, with Stewart and Kebe available for Saturday, what would our starting line up look like?

    Who would you drop?

As Leeds welcome the arrival of one winger in the form of Cameron Stewart, a deal for another creative performer is edging close to completion. Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has revealed that Jimmy Kebe is to move to Elland Road on loan.
Kebe is on his way to Leeds as we talk. That'll be a loan until the end of the season. We'll be losing a few players.

According to the YEP Ashley Barnes is a player BMcD has tried to grab in the past. He is also aware that even though Burnley have agreed a deal with Brighton, that Leeds can outbid Burnley and Barnes is more likely to go to Leeds if they match the original bid. Barnes prefers Leeds and the one thing all three deals have in common is: Stewart free agent in the summer - no fee. Barnes free agent in the summer - no fee. Kebe surplus to requirement and not much money paid for him or expected, so possible that we pick up 3 bargains although probably decent wages to pay. Kebe and Stewart were both given pay rises for the prem? Seems Stewart wants to play football rather than become a millionaire and think Kebe wants the same

Leeds60 I don't see your Wells prediction coming anywhere near mate

Although these signings are really good and much needed, I do feel we're still lacking a player with real leadership qualities. Austin not the answer and not vocal enough.

The team needs a leader or two, apart from maybe Zaliukas they all seem so quiet.

Two good signings, I have some doubts about Stewart but I'll definitely watch him before judging because if he comes off he is exactly the type of player we need at the moment, Kebe is a fantastic signing imo. Those two signings really make us look a more complete team all of a sudden, still think we need a striker to partner ross, Wells would be my choice but he'll be expensive. Don't knw anything about Ashley Barnes to be fair

After the durth of talent arriving at ER over the last few years (ThankscuntBates) It was a good day in the summer when we saw our first million pound player arrive for over 10-years. He's a bit hot and cold but expecting better from him next season. Wooton another £1m arrives and he's a better prospect than Lees, but when Marius came in too we end up with probably the best centre half combination in the league. A load of crap results and performances sees the faithful turning to drink again, yet all of a sudden we see a club who actually can outbid other teams. This hasn't happened for years, and not only do we pick up one potential great wide man, we get a second and an even better player than the first. 2 players in one day, ....... wtf this is Leeds we don't do players early in the window do we? Fook me if Barnes lands as well we still haven';t spent a lot as all 3 will be on loan, and 2 will be freebies in the summer, maybe we carry on buying ........ calm down calm down. I feel pissed and elated for the first time in years <laugh>

Calm down Doc. We'll be going into adminitration soon and be required to beat Leicester 5-0 to stay up in the final game of the season just to balance up all this good news.

On Saturday and assuming for the moment all are fit, I'd play 442. Ross and Smith up top. Mowatt and Austin in the centre. Stewart on one wing and Kebe on the other. This means on the bench we can have Ariyibi and Poleon, as well as Murphy & Tonge. Usual back 4 with Byram and Pugh as R & LB respectively. Suddenly starts to look a very useful side

Well said Doc. A good day so far. One point though, as both players are on loan and free in summer, how did we outbid anyone?

Easy Eire, we promised them more than others when the contract comes into being in August... that and we no doub met the full loan fee as well.... & we're a better prospect than any of the others who might have been in for them.

Yeehah ... Kebe great move, Stewart in with a point to prove at a club MUCH BIGGER than Hull ... and now potentially Barnes as well, who is a striker to help up front, good ball player so just awesome if this trio gets done by tomorrow ... keep them coming McD, keep them coming ... with these incoming players potentially not costing fees up front, we may be able to land another two or three

Offer more means things like wages, signing on brown envelope, you know the usual stuff that footballers are used to getting everywhere but Leeds ..... until now.
