Who goes down?

Not a good day for West Ham. I still think Fulham will be okay this season. Yes, they'll get spanked by some of the big teams but they have a lot of players like Berbatov who only turn up every now and then. I think those guys will win them enough games against the likes of West Ham, Norwich, Cardiff etc that Fulham will stay up.

 

Yep pressure mounting on Fat Sam.

 

Losing to Fulham with their recent form would scare the willies out of me if I were a West Ham supporter. Just watched the game on last night's MOTD and it was pretty poor from both sides; I do feel the wheels have come off for WHU.

Three shots on target against a defence like Fulham's augurs badly for them. They need Carroll to jump straight back into the team on top form as well. Unlikely after such a long layoff.

Still happy with my money on them for the drop.

Yes its looking a good bet. Added pressure of two cup games when their squad is already very stretched.

 

Finally plucked up enough courage to watch MOTD> Tha Nolan really is a nasty piece of work.

 

What? Who would care about stretching a squad when there's a chance to win a cup?

 

Just seen Fat Sams interview in the Standard. Only has 14 fit players inc 2 keepers. Playing youngsters against Forest.

Does show how important early points on the board are...we hit a poor patch, slide a bit, and are remarkably philosophical about it. WHU are in the deep mire. Mauricio's training methods in preseason pay off...start the league a few weeks ahead of everyone else in fitness and grab those points early.

 

Apparently Carroll is back in training. What odds he breaks down again?

Watching them on Sunday their morale is through the floor. They have a massive game away at Cardiff this weekend. Lose that and it will be a huge struggle.

Yep their morale must be shot. Johnson was like a rabbit caught in headlights. Fat Sam badly needs new blood but why would you sig up?

 

That's the problem , unless it was for stupid money ( and you are mercenary ) and NO relegation clause !

Allardyce is an experienced manager, but perhaps old school (he was ahead of the game before, but has now slipped behind). He isn't developing a team so much as trying to do sticking plaster fixes. They were relegated before with an ageing, expensive team...getting back up so quickly may have been good financially...especially with the improved TV deal, but they had no incentive to change the route they were taking. Everyone knows our project...there may be bumps on the way, but at least you can sense a plan. West Ham seem rudderless.

 

Yes agree Fran. They look clueless atm and I can't see a way out.

 

The quote last night about £4m to sack BFS is what I have mentioned previously. He was the man to get them promoted and they paid for that privelege. Their issue now is they paid too much and they can't afford the change. Is it £150m they are spending on doing up the stadium or did I miss hear that recently on the news?

They need Andy Carroll and Nolan back fit and focused so they can start launching it at teams as that is their only plan.

Personally I am beginning to believe the rumblings from the agents and this might further undermine the cause.

 

Last nights result doesnt help them financially either. The second leg will be difficult to market and will probably be played to empty stands.
