I take on board, and agree with your points here. The one thing you can't buy is a link and bond with the fans.
Saylor has that, and for all his limits in the skills department.. he certainly wears his heart on his sleeve.
If he were to go I'd like to see a CB come in who is significantly better than him.. and I mean significantly enough to offsett the lack of understanding with the fans. This should happen before any outgoings are agreed but with our club... anything is possible...

    I completely agree.

Taylor would be a much better player for another team. He simply cares too much in that he'll do anything to try and gain an advantage which more often than not results in him moving out of position to make a challenge he can't quite reach. Or getting so frustated he'll elbow someone. Even as far as pretending to be shot <laugh>

He'd be a good CB (provided he can stay fit) for most mid table Prem teams. I just think for us he's never going to mature in to the player he should because he's just as big a supporter as each and everyone of the fans.

    Likewise, I agree with you.

I think Taylor has had periods where he's proved he's a very capable defender. A bit like Willo he'll have a run where people reconsider his England credentials, then have a 'mare and everyone writes him off.

But yeah, he's been a long-term servant and clearly has a natural love for NUFC. He does wear his heart on his sleeve and has done some silly things in the past as a result of this, coming across as a tad 'eccentric' but so what?
The only worry I have about his personality in the dressing room is that he could also be divisive as a character amongst the other players. He has got form in coming across as slightly arrogant, but I'm not sure that's him really.

Sometimes we also get sick of the same old faces and just want rid on that basis...

Can you honestly see Stevie being interested in going to Cardiff at this time in his career?

Unless he's fallen out with Pardew etc and wants to escape, it would seem a very odd career decision to me. We might have told him he's not in our plans, but I'd be surprised.

With respect to Cardiff I would even see a move to QPR more appealing to him in terms of working with Harry and maybe working again with Barton.

I'm sure he would be automatic first choice there if that's a concern...

You're right about QPR being more appealing to him.

Doesn't make any difference, Cardiff or QPR, he wont be going anywhere unless we bring in a replacement first.
C'mon no sensible Director of Football would allow us to be caught out without cover, would he?

It's a bit much to doubt his capabilities, after all, he's done nothing to get judged on.
