Yes, even I managed to work that one out in all my disinterest. I thought both teams weren't exactly setting the screen on fire. Sunderland Just about deserved to win from what I could see, but Andre Marriner did everything he could to even the score without making it obvious, and I only watched the last 20 minutes.

Someone will tell me why the Bardsley goal is an own goal. My understanding is that, these days, a deflected own goal is deemed so if it changes the flight of the ball from one that is going to miss into one that scores. Obviously, this ruling doesn't count if Wayne Rooney is shooting because I've seen him hit a shot heading for the corner flag and it was deflected in, and credited to him.

To those who'll only scan my post, I know Rooney didn't play.

Man United have lost three times in 2014 and we are only seven days into the year. Incredible!

Decided to keep the Radio 5 link on, and could someone remind me who won this evening..? Why all this ManU crap..? I've a good mind to email the programme and ask them to allow some Sunderland fans to express their points.

I imagine Chelsea and Arsenal will be seeing increased shirt sales if this continues.:)

I'll give ou a little clue on the own goal TSS. It was an Og because Ryan Giggs kicked the ball into the net. Bardsley didn't touch it.

Sadly, there was. At one point there were at least 3 ManU supporters on the line all debating between each other, and Mark Chapman could be heard breathing in the background trying to get a word in, then he gave up.

I thought, hang on, my licence fee is being wasted here. So I emailed the programme to say that I was sick and tired of having to hear about ManU** and could we hear from some Sunderland fans. We got two near the end. Then they went to the news and came back to more wall-to-wall ManU. They didn't read out my email, and anyway, their address seemed a general one for the station, not the programme. Mind you, unless you're on facebook or twitter or the phone it seems you have precious little chance of getting through anyway.

**I used the argument that if you add up all the non-ManU supporters against the ManU supporters, the non-ManU supporters vastly outnumber them, so could we have a little balance please, oh so-called public broadcaster.

One little factite from tonight's match between Sunderland v ManU kept popping into my head like an alarm bell and I kept missing the point as I tried to dismiss it each time because it was irrelevant to the match itself. This was the fact:

ManU are on the worst run of games since season 2000-01 [it might be 2001-02 but it matters little].

That wouldn't go away amidst a wash of noise regarding whether Moyes was upto his task or not. Then it hit me. This statistic wasn't from the Ron Atkinson years in the 1980's, but from Fergie's own reign.

So what is all the fuss about..? :)

Ferguson is now Teflon and has earnt himself complete immunity from criticism...Moyes is new, so everything (including the increase in rail prices) is down to him.
