I thought that comparison was good also. And he points out they had the monetary backing we don't. The problem we are having this season is dropping a few too many points at home, even though are away form has actually picked up! Funny that, isn't it!

Colk, i'm sure you know that i'm a Hughton-outer, but I have to say that this particular post has come closest to making me change my mind. Very eloquent and well argued.

    (I haven't changed my mind, though :emoticon-0102-bigsm)

Your thread made me realise again the sheer size of the task that Hughton took on. When Lambert left, we could easily have imploded and the fact that we didn't is at least partly down to CH. So if he got sacked tomorrow, I think we would owe him a debt of gratitude. He kept us from collapsing and he has brought in some very good players.

Sadly, I just don't think he has the skill set to take us any further. Just my opinion.

Not at all Melchy, I just happened to find the article very interesting, good points backed up by some solid facts, and I thought, very relevant to our current situation. i wouldn´t dream of trying to push anyone in any particular direction, but I seem to remember not so long ago, that we were bombarded by a thread from the other side of the table, also taken from ´Myfootballwriter´ , from ´CitySlicker´ I think it was.

It´s a debating board after all, debate if you like, if you don´t, don´t.

Surprise, surprise, yet another slab of blinkered propaganda refusing to look at ALL the facts and instead skewing reality to suit your agenda.

So we've not seen any decent football at all this season? Absolutely none?
Not even when we turned over West Ham in the second half ar Carrow Road?
Or when we were the better team against Man United, playing some lovely football?
Or when we had Chelsea on the ropes before they did a smash and grab on us with a couple of counter-attacks from mega-million players?
Or when we did a job against the Baggies at their place?
Or when we look like the home team for most of the second half against Arsenal at the Emirates?
Or when we absolutely dominated the game against Cardiff, only to be denied by the bus they had parked in front of their goal?

I'm not for a second saying we are great to watch every week, and I'm not denying that there have been games that have been absolutely dreadful to watch, but to keep saying you don't see "any decent football" even "once in a while" is just plain wrong, in fact it is a downright lie.

Oh, I'm not on the fence. I'd like to see him gone - as simple as that. I just wanted to say that, at this point, I would still judge his overall contribution to NCFC history to be positive.

I'd probably have to agree with you that he doesn't really have the skill set to make us an 8-12th placed regular (Which I think would be our next step at this stage though we have already achieved 11th and 12th) but his overall achievement at this club of keeping us up last season is what matters to me. I'd rather managers were judged at the end of a season. You got relegated, so be it, sack the manager then or stick with him. All this mid season juggling of managers just seems to me to be satisfying the media and the fans, who love a good witch hunt.
