Good I say. It's really not the big f**king problem everyone makes it out to be. I'm also looking forward to summer football. It would be much better to attend matches in daylight and nice weather than freeze the tits off on a pitch black winter Saturday afternoon. In a sudden glut of international 'big news' I see Thomas The Hammer Hitzelsperger has come out.
This is a chance to revolutionise the football calendar. Why does the season start in August? Why not have a March- November season and not play at all in the winter months ?
PRECISELY. I honestly think when we do this and we're all having a post match pint on a balmy early July evening in daylight until 9.30pm we'll all think it's ****ing brilliant and wont want to go back to freezing cold, pitch-black at 3.30pm January Saturday afternoons. Plus during the kids 6 week holidays wouldnt a packed domestic calendar be a really good thing to keep them occupied?
is this the start of the much needed winter break? oh no! shock horror! no boxing day football! now we will have to spend Christmas with aunt Mabel instead!
In other news, the IOC have announced that the next Winter Olympics will be held in Barbados in August.

Obviously not your error, but that should be 'Who would have thought it?' If whoever did this is trying and make Blatter look stupid at least get it right....
Unless something has changed the summer holidays start around 23rd July, and run through to about the 5th September, so the clubs are already coming back and starting their season as the holidays begin, and then they go for an international break just as the schools go back.
I prefer winter footy, summer weekends are for days out and barbecues yunno things you can't do in the winter. Footy dominates a weekend at the best of times and I do holidays, trips etc mainly in the warmer months so a move to summer games would well and truly screw that up. A winter break over Christmas and New Year might be a good idea tho, I'm surprised no other leagues have tried it
