I come in peace lads. United are pretty average this season and the first people to say were yourselves, you have had a tough time of late from your rival fans and it appears Moyes is the media flavour of the month. Now the first time I ever saw my beloved Swansea play at the Vetch was against none other than Manchester United and my ticket was a birthday present from my father, whose first ever game was Swansea against Liverpool on his birthday via a ticket bought by my grandfather. I will always have a soft spot for United because they moved me from just being a player to becoming a spectator and a fan. I was one of those odd youngsters who loved to play but hated watching. So since that childhood birthday I witnessed your club first rise from my fathers 2nd team's shadow to becoming the pre-eminent force in British football, and whilst there are people of Liverpool' ilk who are always quick to claim you are entering the fall of an empire (they would know all about that) I personally do not see it happening. I think David Moyes has been rather hard done by if I am honest and the ones responsible for the predicament are those behind the scenes in the highest positions, basically the board and Sir Alex Ferguson. To this day as an outsider I am still puzzled why he chose to keep certain players and move others, and the club should have been strengthened but wasn't. If Ferguson was still in charge I actually doubt United would be fairing any better, and that man has been in this position before with inferior opposition around them. I remember United struggling after woeful transfer decisions that resulted in them being this much off the pace from the leaders in the 2000's and then there was only Arsenal as a title contender. Moyes has an aging team plagued with injuries and to become title challengers with anybody at the helm there must be an overhaul of the playing staff, Manchester United cannot continue with a squad that has Rio Ferdinand as it's first choice defender when the player is now in his twilight years, has lost two yards of pace and makes more unusual football decisions as time goes on. And whilst Giggs is a legend for your club an institution like Manchester United should have already had a real replacement in place meaning the 40 year old wouldn't have made the bench but instead concentrate on the backroom aspect of the sport. Thankfully I read the comments here and see that most of you are not pulling the trigger on the new man, and whilst the same players achieved the title last year it was noted even by some here that the performances were beginning look a little laboured. This was the effect of a regeneration being overdue and I am certainly nearly of you have seen this as you are not stupid people. The title and maybe any silverwear is probably out of the question now but this is not unique even in the last few years, we know this. However, the lack of investment in addition to injuries to your ruthlessly dangerous attacking pair has shown the board the back is breaking after a long time carrying the strain. They are now saying Moyes will have a warchest of £100 and Moyes suggests this may not be spent in January, could be a smart move as the football January sales are the opposit of the high street January Sales. Everything costs more in this transfer window and in the summer that £100m million will go a lot further, not to mention any additions of Man Utd quality will add no value to your Champions League campaign. In a season or two United will be back and challenging, an influx of new players and sufficient back up to boot. Moyes is not a bad manager, he has had the one of the most difficult possible starts and everyone knew he'd need a little time to make his own stamp and lets not forget there was talk of the need to renew personnel even during your title winning campaign last season... Funny how the media have quickly forgotten that but ofcourse, you don't have to. Chin up folks because Moyes will come good. But please not before Sunday, you can have your revival anytime point after that.
Yep we know about the fall of our empire just like Utd fans did after the Busby years or did you purposely leave that out?
I didn't need to add it. How ironic the first one to reply was a Liverpool fan who scoped on to one particular line, dude you have insecurity issues.
Very sensible post. I think we are doing Inter Milan, old players dragging the team out of past glories. What Moyes is made of, is still to be seen, but Fergie must be held responsible in some way. His tranfer dealings success rate was dismal at best in the lattter part of his reign.
moyes hopefully will come good but fergie has to take some of the blame for insisting moyes be the next manager.....
Gtf. You took a dig at us so what did you expect, laurel leaves from adoring Utd fans because you slated us? You're the insecure one due to you craving favour by slating us.
Page, at least give him time to get off his knees and wipe his chin before pointing out flaws in his United fellating technique.
Now if he hadn't spoiled his arse kissing by bringing us into it I might have refrained from laughing at him, strangely enough he gives Dai grief on the Swansea board for praising Rodgers.
Lol... You Liverpool fans have an enormous inferiority complex with United, you can't stand how other fans prefer them to your own club. This is quite interesting from a psychology point of view.
It might surprise you but the two cities have been rivals since before football came into being, even before Fergie there was a rivalry.
Inferior? Success and dominance comes and goes in a cyclical manner. Well for our two teams it does. As for other fans I don't generalise nor do I "prefer" any other team. I have mine; it's enough. I was being very specific about you being on your knees: Plastics bendy. And you meant from a psychological point of view I take it?
No we just think fans who "prefer" more than one club are kind of weird Some might even say a bit plastic...did you develop this "preference" while Swansea weren't very good or when we gave Rodgers a chance to step up?
