    Ahh common sense:)

the stats unfortunately put Liverpool ahead, even with being banned from europe whilst at the top.

Call me a lunatic, but I honeslty think hte euroeans were only to happy to ban English clubs because they were winning things, fkn eurotrash, looking at the whole UEFA and FIFA shinnanigans, even the seeding for the Euros where we Ireland got cheated out of the comp by the seeding cheat by Fatini and then Henry hte baguette swallower, who forgot he had the nerve to call the ref in the CL final a cheat, french prick

Nottingham Forest have won 2 European Cups to Arsenal's 0
Nottingham Forest have won 1 League title to Arsenal's 13.

    Who is the bigger side?

Whats Liverpools total of league points, total goals and game wins
Whats Uniteds total of league points total goals and game wins
Who's been longer in top glight footy over all

Judging who is best overall in the league cannot be done by titles, Germany till recently were the best WC team though they had not got most cups. In measuring quality you need to add everything up including the stats from years neither team won the league.

be interesting to see how it would look, n idea and no patience to do all of that:)

    United most successful league team.
Liverpool Most successful overall team, no doubt there. 19 just doesn't do it for me and the final of the CL just dampened any chance of being considered best or even remotely, at least if yernited won that it would have been all square on major titles. Alas straw clutching so much will give you a repetitive strain injury

Im no maths genius but isn't Liverpools 40 overall trophies more than Man Uniteds 38 overall trophies.
    Just a simple question.
Liverpool still the undisputed most successful club in English football.

I think it speaks volumes that Liverpool have played over 400 games more than United in the top flight and have still won less league titles. <ok>

    I don't think so...

United the most successful club domestically.
Liverpool the most successful English club in europe.:p

There is no way you can argue that Liverpool are better than United domestically... I will however let you have Europe.

These 19 - 5 arguements are pointless as they simply can't won by either side

That's actually the all time league table including every league in the country.

    http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/all-time-table/full

This one is the top flight league table. It should also be noted United only entered the top flight 2 years before Liverpool did.

We're actually 10 years older than Manchester United.
Newton Heath were formed in 1878.They went bankrupt,Manchester United were formed in 1902.

Either way you've accumulated 100 points more than us in your extra 14yrs.

As for entering the top flight only two yrs before we did, thats because at the time utd were'nt good enough to play in the top league(?)

we won our 1st league title in 1900(8yrs after the club was formed).

Out of curiosity when was utd's first league title win?

What was the longest either club went without a title.
Liverpool are currently on their longest run.
    Their previous was 1947-1964.
    Man Uniteds was 1910-1955.

1908. Liverpool were set up by a weathly brewery owner. Perhaps that tells you something? United were set up by a bunch of workers. At the time when United were Newton Heath and Liverpool arrived on the scene is like comparing United now to a Championship team. But that was over 100 years ago... KPR is clueless. Newton Heath didn't fold, they changed their name when they were about to go bankrupt. A few local men come in to save the club and the name was changed then.
