According to the Evil Post our accountants, Grant Thornton, have "cast doubt over the ability of the firm which owns Bristol Rovers to continue as (a) going concern after the club revealed its losses have doubled over the last 12 months."

Apparently our losses last year were £782,000 and turnover dropped by 17%.

Not a good situation to be in, however, this year should be better as attendances have stabilised and we've got rid of high earners like Kenneth, Virgo and Gill.

I'm quite worried but let's face it, recently all we seem to get is bad news so these latest figures for 2012/13 shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.

I've gone numb about so many things to do with football.
I don't believe managers, chairmen, players, writers of reports..........
I expect the worst and then am pleasantly surprised when it doesn't happen.......
    Same with politicians actually...............

It is worrying, but there are a helluva lot of other clubs in a far worse financial situation than us.

Apparently one club recorded a £14.4million loss for 2012, which rather puts our £782,000 in perspective <laugh>

Stop whining about and pack your ground, not saying any of you don't go but it's the way to prevent the unthinkable.

Neither of our teams average more than 60% capacity and that's mainly because of lowly league positions and unattractive football - you're not wrong though...

But it's a never ending circle, my step dad ( Gashead) says he won't pay money to watch that crap, but if he goes they have more money to buy better players. Not saying him alone but if everyone got behind their clubs instead of whining then things will be better.

It's a bit scary to be honest. I note that Radio Bristol are talking to the auditors and not the club - I'd like to hear some words of reassurance from the club, rather than the vague platitudes from Nick Higgs that we had today.

My mate Danny doesn't go anymore - he's so pissed off with it, he's taken to watching the egg-chasing at Kingsholm! I've gone a little less than last season, but it's always been difficult for me to attend every home game what with having 3 boys under the age of 7.

But we're still one of the top 5 in L2 for attendances, so it seems that we also have succumbed to the Bristol disease of paying top dollar wages to journeymen who are only in it for the money. it's also clear that we've taken steps to address that - getting rid of the high earners and making do with young pros from the youth set up.

Probably why we're 90th in the league. **** me - I've got to laugh or I'd have to hang myself <laugh>

RedorDead is right, both clubs have fallen into a state of apathetic limbo following their stadium disappointments. There are 2½ months left until the JR is heard, the club can't just sit around awaiting the outcome while falling ever deeper into the relegation mire. Action is needed now to turn the negativity into positive vibes again. Get a bums on seats campaign going with cut prices if necessary. Sell the cause in the local media, set a target of 7-9,000 per home game, which will lift the players, lift the fans and generate cash. Almost 40,000 went to Cardiff and Wembley, it's time for them to show their true colours.

We need major investment always baffles me why these tiny clubs like Fleetwood and Crawley have it neither have any real potential
