I also agree with Mindy on this one. I love Jesus he was Jewish but I haven't met a real life jew I liked much.
Aye yer right, again. Some **** makes a thread title on what is probably one of the more mental forums on the web and it's a timely reminder...... Roaster.
Anti semitism is real though, and some people do use Israel's aggressive foreign policy as an excuse to air some pretty offensive views. I heard a conversation between some black guys at work the other day in which killing Jesus, owning all the banks, and running a secret world govt were all listed as Jewish crimes. Hitler would have been nodding in agreement at that conversation.
I know people that do that as well. I also agree that anti Semitism is real but i don't think it's fair for anyone to say that being anti israeli policy automatically makes you an anti semite.
Of course it doesn't. It's a tactic employed by the OO, you oppose them then you're anti Protestant. It's bollocks.
I totally agree and you're right - that's where the poblem lies. Although i'm guilty of it at times i really don't like generalisations as it just leads to too many issues like the one you've described. Same, of course, as saying all prods are in the OO or all Irish Catholics are IRA!
Well I think that's that settled then, I suppose this thread's dead, you killed it with your sensibileness, I hope you are happy?
There was a belting tweet from Christopher Brookmyre about that: "George osborne has been voted politician of the year - I suppose Ian Watkins will be baysitter of the year"
Of course the thread isn't dead. We haven't discussed how the green brigade made a banner of Auschwitz and started singing "we're all going on a summer holiday" yet
No it isn't the same. Anyone can join the IRA. Only Protestants can join the OO. The IRA has nothing to do with Religion.
Some folk will use all sorts of feeble excuses to justify their actions . Bobby and his pals are prime example .
Yeah sorry - it isn't quite the same. But the point I was really making, allbeit a tad cack handedly was that there are people who are still more than happy to assume that if you're irish and catholic you supoport the IRA in the same way as there are people who say if you're protestant it automatically makes you OO. I really should refrain form getting involved in these threads
I'm a Protestant but the Order refused my application saying my views were to extreme and my inclusion would tarnish their reputation.
