I would have preferred him 15 years ago, but he's a consummate professional and it never hurts to have as many of those as possible in your squad. For the record, I actually think we have quite a few (eg. Schmeichel, Morgan, Konchesky, Nugent, Taylor-Fletcher, Dyer, Hammond, King- might help explain our current stability) but I'd still take Phillips- he scored nearly 20 for Blackpool the season before last and a few for Crystal Palace after that.
