You mean how Schumacher had a red helmet when driving for Mercedes? What would Ferrari really be gaining from this tbh? I think its a nice gesture from Ferrari to show how much they care about him. They have also organised bus trips in France and Italy to the hospital.

Schumacher is a hugh part of Ferrari's history. I doubt they're looking to make a few quid from hats and pretty sure there's some genuine concern for his well-being.

Ive also called him a c*** in the recent past but I still feel sorry for him. But to be honest you would have to be a real hard core fan anyway to turn up at the hospital.... I wonder If Manny, Forza and Silver are secretly having a picnic on the hospital greens

I think Miggins is on about that time Schumacher let Vettel past for the championship and the Tifosi in their words said: "He betrayed us, he's dead to me."

Seem to have Luca believe Schumacher owed them or something???

    Proven my point:

Mrs Schumacher "We are overwhelmed!" said a short statement on Schumacher's official website. "The incredible sympathies shown today by the Ferrari fans outside the hospital has utterly overwhelmed us and moved us all to tears.

"We are deeply grateful for it and also for all the heart warming and heartfelt wishes for Michael to get well soon, which have reached us from all over the world."

The publicity stunt has been COMPLETED! Well done Luca, you hit a new low for me.

Yeah, but you're not an Italian bought up in a machiavellian society.

Schumacher is a Ferrari legend, he went their when they were in the doldrums and was a big part in turning their fortunes around, so they should be showing their support and appreciation for the success he brought their team.

I don't see Ferrari suddenly selling a shed load more cars because they rallied their fans. The gesture was appreciated by the family so where's the harm?

'Just responded in the seasonal thread with belated best wishes for everyone here.
Naturally, I'll extend the thought to Michael Schumacher and his family. I have every confidence that, in time, he will make a full recovery.

After whizzing through this thread – and I say this without wishing to reignite polarized views – I understand the point Miggins was trying to make. Given the nature of fora and the response(s) he must surely have anticipated, I actually think it was somewhat courageous!

(Muses to oneself: Right, what else has been happening whilst I've been away?)

The French Police are going to hold a press conference shortly so they will presumably shed some light on the true story. Apparently a witness had filmed the whole thing on his phone....

Which always bugs me as to how that could happen. something happens in a short space of time yet somebody always has there phone to hand. My camera usually takes a few secs to boot up too, then I would have to change to video mode...

I wouldn't have thought so. It's a stressful time for his family and being harassed by journalists will only make it worse. People can be in a coma for weeks so it's pointless them being there. And as time's gone on the bastards will have got more desperate for scraps of information to keep interest in "the story" running high.

Probably more because its got a bit much.

Lets not forget either Schumacher is not the only person in this hospital. Other patients and staff need their privacy and integrity.

I wouldn't have thought so... If there is bad news, they'll flock back in numbers anyway. Probably going to be small pieces of news over the coming weeks, so no point in being camped out there causing a fuss around the hospital, like Bando says.

    This.

It is probably also very distressing to be hounded by the media everytime she or other family go in and out of the hospital, on top of being by her husband's bed when she is in there.

Suprised there has been no statements from the hospital in the last week.

All you can assume is there has been no change to his condition, which I would find quite worrying if he is still in an induced coma.

It depends on the severity of the bruising, I guess they just have to wait for it to ease more before bringing him out. It's more like being permanently anaesthetised than an actual coma, and with the hypothermic added in, probably more like hibernating. 6 months is pretty much the longest anyone has been 'kept under' for, but it's theorhetically possible for them to be kept alive indefinitely. No news isn't necessarily bad though, in fact probably the opposite cos no news means he isn't dead.
