SUNDERLAND are trying to snatch Paris St Germain striker Mevlut Erding from under the noses of bitter rivals Newcastle. Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is eyeing up a £9million swoop for the Turkey hitman. Erding is set to be offloaded after PSG signed Kevin Gameiro from Lorient. But Toon manager Alan Pardew said: "Erding has always been on our radar. He's a very good player and that is all I will say at the moment. "We had a bit of a disappointment with Kevin Gameiro as he has decided to go to PSG. We made a fantastic offer to the club and to him, but these things happen. "We tried very hard on that one but we always knew there would be setbacks along the way/ "W have always had other people in mind, deals we have been trying to keep to ourselves for obvious reasons. "We are working extremely hard to make those deals happen and I'm pretty happy with how things have gone so far. "We should have another signing finished in the next few days, and we will able to confirm that one as well." Lille and Rennes are also interested in Erding, 24, who was PSG's player of the season in 2010 after costing them £8m from Sochaux two summers ago.
There must be something in the thinking of both clubs to be linked to a lot of the same players, a lot of the times it us vs. mags for the signature of a player and neither of us get him.
Don't know anything about the guy but if we have Ji don won and rumours are right about Ngog can we afford to get another unproven striker in the premiership on our books. He however does sound a good prospect but would like to see some with PL experience in Crouch, Defoe, Pav, Rodellaga, Cameron Jerome, but one of these two i would like to see them splash the big money on is Sturridge or Wellbeck
We need similar players and we have similar budgets, so we'll end up crossing paths more often than not. I'm surprised we haven't done it more really. It seems like Bruce's main buying strategy (older PL players) is very different to Pards' (young players from abroad).
HERE YOU GO syd, seems a guddun, was looking at this thread myself, least I can give you the vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cETnkGXnkB8
Older PL players and who are they. we are linked with Erding 24 Whickam 18 Ji Don Wong 20 we would like Wellbeck 20 apart from Crouch i think the rest are in their 20s
For your information, clown, Erding is a town in Bavaria, about 30 euros return on the train from MUNICH,,,,,,,,,,getting the picture?.....no also the home of Erdinger wiesse beer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,becoming clearer yet,,,,,,,,no Melvuts surname is wait for it,,,,,,,,,,,,,ERVINC................GOT IT NOW? SO YOU DONT RATE A GUY , THAT YOU DONT EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,**** OFF CLOWN.
He looks pretty good from Youtube but then again, so do I. Asamoah had no PL experience and he turned out alright, I wouldn't mind him. Would probably prefer Rodellega but that's cos I haven't seen Erding play. Scoring record is almost 1 in 2 so not bad. Would obviously prefer Welbeck Sturridge or Wickham but that's wishful thinking really! I think I'd prefer Erding to Crouch, Defoe or Pav mainly on the age front. Chappaz- obviously if the rumours on Crouch, Brown and O'Shea come off, then yes I could sort of see where you're coming from. But looking at Bruce's actual signings: Mignolet, Turner, Cattermole, Sessegnon, Elmo, Gyan, Riveros, Campbell, Bent, Cana...Bramble. ...I would see Titus as the only old PL signing? Zenden also old but brought in on a free from OM. And linked- NGog, Gibson, Gardner, Larsson, Ji Dong-Won - all also young..
Yes think we need to buy 1 proven striker (Sturridge would be my choice) and maybe 1 or 2 gambles, with Won being one of those. Never heard of this guy before though so I can't be excited or disappointed at this point!
your a bad tempered bugger, even the OP has spelt it like that. as cyprus has said in another thread, calm down!!
