No. I remember that arsehole refusing to wear a shirt many of us could only dream about wearing. When you get the opportunity to play for Liverpool you should take it regardless of the circumstance.
Still one of the best DM's in the world, despite playing as a CB for the past few years. Absolute monster in the middle who could rough the opposition up - something that we're currently lacking. Either he himself or a player like him would replace Lucas straight away. I would prefer us to look to the future and find someone who can win the ball back and start attacks - M'Vila is the perfect choice. Fernando would be another good DM to have.
for sure boz, but you are speaking from a fans point of view, not a player, foreign one at that that, has no connection or care for anything to do with the club who pay their wages. sadly the way it is now days, none of them care for the club they play for (maybe a few exceptions) most only care for the money, its an over paid job and they just all want to rinse it for what they can, joe cole is a fine example same as carroll, they don't give a ****.
Can't see anyway we'd pay that much (this is a Hash rumour let's bear in mind ). If we could get him for 10-12 though I wouldn't say no. I sympathise totally with all those who say he doesn't deserve to pull on our shirt again but didn't we hear all the same stuff about goofy in the summer (for slightly different reasons I grant you)? My reasoning is quite simple....I don't doubt that he'd give his all if he came back and played for us...just as Luis does. Won't happen anyway but yeah I'd have him back if the deal was right for the club.
+1 Aye, loved the guy when he played for us, he could still do a job too, but I wouldn't want us to pay more than 7-9M for player fast approaching his 30s.
Echo the above... bit old...can still do job... but too expensive. Think he would fit Rodgers tactics well. Now if we could just sign Hyypia, Barnes and Ian Rush the title would be in the bag.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. He's the past as we are looking at the future. He wanted away and insulted the club he should never come back. As for those of you who say he can still do a DM job for us, how can you be sure about that when he hasn't played that role for at least 3 seasons. So you're pissing in the wind and merely saying what you would LIKE him to be able to do!
Get em both, then get Momo back and in and we can finally have our best midfield in the world song back
Bloody Hell! I'm the one who's old and supposed to be more concerned with looking backwards and not planning for the future and you Mob are still tlking about past players!
You have to remember how old some of these posters are. They grew up watching and falling in love with the club with players such as Mascherano in the side.
Mascherano wasn't here long enough for anybody to actually grow up. But then I suppose they are only kids still! As my dear old Ma said "you can't put an old head on young shoulders" - bloody used to annoy me too at the time!
The time period of falling in love with a club is only short so he didn't have to be here long. They are thick little fuckers though
