No Doc, its not just you losing faith. I'm being careful what I say though cos Im still fuming at the whole farce that has been our xmas footie
Don't remember the Don using much rotation! I know it's a different era, but they've not exactly played 60 matches in a season yet, have they? TBH, we're punching above our weight atm. BM isn't rotating as we've got ever descending layers of ****e to pick from. We'd be even worse if we rotated imho. He's trying to keep confidence up in the only way available to him with this 'squad'.
Jock listen to Doc If the Rochdale match was fin the league we would have come away with 2 points from 15 and that's not really making anyone confident. That haul is a disgrace I'm afraid and can you remember the last time we looked like a decent side? So far this last week we've seen Charlton sold, we've seen Reading on the verge of being sold, we've seen Watford's Italian owners put 2 internationals into the club on loan from Udinese, we've seen 3 Chelsea players go out on loan into our league, we've seen 3 Spurs players, 2 Liverpool, 3 Man Utd, 2 Man City ....... We're frigging about trying to get a reject from Hull whilst Hull replace him with Max Gradel!!!!
Good points ... key is McD doesn't seem to trust the likes of Green, Norris etc so how on earth does he rotate? Warnock left us with a pile of rusted junk and its hurting us until they're off the books ... I still trust McD, he is a good manager trying to plough on and make do as best he can, but the lack of quality has been found out and he's stretching his players ... board needs to move fast in support of McD and get those signings in Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
The more this 'fatigue and burnt out' is used as an excuse, the more tired the players will feel. It's all in the mind. None of those players have played more than 25 games yet this season, and the likes of Byram, Zaliukas, Pugh and Smith considerably less than that. Rochdale haven't rotated their squad either, in fact they've probably played more games than Leeds, but when they're up for it, have more hunger and desire to win, you don't feel 'tired'. What a pathetic excuse that is. I really think the blame lies with McDermott, there was no gameplan, the players didn't seem to know what the tactics were supposed to be, no wonder they resorted to hoofball. McDermott had better learn from this, and learn quickly. Talks the talk, but talks about using the reaction of the fans to make him more driven. Why he isn't 100% driven already is anyone's guess. Many more lacklustre performances like we saw at Rochdale and he'll be driven alright...out of Leeds United.
Off subject Iknow, but I'm really enjoying the abuse scum are getting on FB & Twitter. This is the pick of the bunch for me, so far ... Manchester United were once the Goliath of English football, then along came David.....
That is a funny one jocko ... honestly, Warnock left a truly awful squad behind, with claims he only needed one or two more signings to have a promotion team ... oh fcuk off!! McD will get it right, he is the first manager in a looooong time I trust Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Who was left a fair lot of dross by Grayson who was left a fair lot of dross by ......... And so it goes on and on
Everyone blames the previous guy. Excuses are just reasons why they did not get it done. Still hard to understand why almost no rotation - does not matter what the quality of the rest of the squad is. What happens when there are injuries, suspensions, etc and they have to be used? What kind of effort can be expected then? I still like BeeMacDee but very disappointing.
I don't think you can expect immediate results in any business. Brian has come in, we all know that the aim isn't to necessarily get promoted this season, we are building for the future. This one season wonder **** doesn't work and everything takes time. McDermott isn't a magician or the perfect manager by a long way but the best we have had in a long time, I'm as disappointed as the next bloke about the Rochdale game but we move on and keep the building going. What we have learned more than anything is fans can be very fickle, exactly 1 month ago he was being hailed as the best manager in the league.
They'll fall off unless they improve their squad a fair bit in january. We had a similar run under McDermott, just a few games shorter
No recent Leeds manager hasn't had to contend with the dross left by his predecessor. Its what happens when you have a greedy cheapskate owner who's more bothered about his expenses account and being seen as a big shot than doing what's in the club's best interests. McDermott will get it right given time, of that I am sure. We have seen glimpses of it already and things will improve. I genuinely believe he doesn't trust a lot of his back ups or even first teamers, given his recent response to warnocks claims.
I don't remember us winning eight in a row or anything remotely like it since Denis Wise was in charge
