I'm middle aged and grumpy, its the stress of supporting watford, I'm the only one who has right of way on this planet, everything annoys me, I'm from another dimension and can't wait to go back there, oh death where is thy sting......
i was imagining coming back to find the bad news was already here, because it's not i'm now feeling far more optimistic and thinking that Malky isn't going to Cardiff after all...i hope i'm right!
Perhaps the thread should be renamed 'Mackay to be appointed Tuesday'! Although WalesOnline are now saying the decision on who will be appointed is "days away".
Well another day, I wonder what rumours or links to news sites that all report the same guesses dressed up as facts or links to message boards/forums that are full of "nailed on" facts or people that know people or saw someone in a hotel last night "facts" we will see today.....can't wait!
As they often said at Marineville during stressful times..... 'STAND BY FOR ACTION - ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS'.
Err did you write this "in a hurry", you guys may think I'm grumpy, but I feel I have a balanced view on football. My point with Malky is this continued speculation isn't doing the club any good. It is clear to me that MM is a great football manager and as such he is almost too good for our club - bigger challenges beckon for him. Have Watford FC planned for his replacement? The club must know his real position, if I were GT I would have talked at length with him and my hope at one point is he would say "wait for a really top opportunity to come along, and you will go with our blessing". GT must know if Malky "wants to go". If he wants to go then the board need to agree the terms and then let him go. Once all of this is clear we can all get on with the football, because Pre Season is just around the corner.
You would hope Malky heeds his own advice and learns his trade at Watford before moving onto bigger, better things - which I think most of us believe he is destined for. I do think he has the person 'mentor' in GT to give this advice as well. I don;t know if GT ever got linked with other jobs before he took the Villa role... but look what a bigger role did for him!! No offence to Cardiff, I just don't think it is a big enough step up for Malky yet..... His time will come
Elixir - Please don't take my comments to heart, they are all light-hearted and "a bit of fun". I do generally agree with what you say though. If (and this is the point of my comments - IF) Malky does leave, what provisions are in place? The whole Bassini saga hasn't gone down to well (and you can understand why). But I get the feeling us fans haven't heard the whole story, so for this reason, I am trying not to form too many assumptions.
What we fans need at the mo is stability of some sort, and Malky staying would give us that..without that, everything becomes completely uncertain, and we're nervous enough already. Obviously this decision won't be made for us, and he won't stay 'because' of us, but right now, purely selfishly, we need him to stay.
latest tweet: Moose_talkSPORT Ian Abrahams OK Malky McKay appears to be Cardiff's number 1 choice-there has been no contact between CCFC &WFC but I understand he's no1 on their list
Doesn't really matter if Malky is number 1 choice... if Bas is serious about keeping Malky, then he just needs to give them a big f-you when they come asking. Then it would be down to Malky to push for a move... and I'm not sure he would!!
IMO the biggest factor is Malky - is he looking for a better club? If so, then the club need to manage his exit and negotiate the best compensation package with his new club. No-one can be held to their contract if they want to move on. I want this situation resolved asap.
I think now we can staart thinking there may be something in it seeing as MM is back from holiday now i believe, so if any contact will be made it will be made in the next few days.
Do they mean to suggest that a bankrupt club literally spending millions beyond its means on individual players' wages would ever dream about talking to a manager unofficially? Surely they know that the FA would absolutely cripple them with a suspended fine worth hundreds of pounds for that sort of disgraceful conduct.
Interesting one from William Hill: "We began to see bets for Shearer on Monday night and soon noticed that almost all of them - and they were for up to 200 euros a time - were coming from the Cork area. We reduced the odds but the bets continued to come in and eventually we began to see money from other areas. The gamble has continued on Tuesday morning and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Shearer become favourite over Malky Mackay very shortly" said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. William Hill have slashed the odds on Alan Shearer taking charge to 6/4 Wishful thinking maybe.... But who knows!!
I know it is only betting sites so react to betting patterns, but SkyBet now have Malky at 8/15 (from 1/3) and Shearer also at 6/4... maybe the tide is shifting a little!! <fingerscrossed>
And if MM doesn't go to Cardiff there is always Birmingham City and any other club who ditches their manager in hte next few weeks.
Just for a change a viewpoint from Cardiff that seems sensible. http://www.fanhouse.co.uk/2011/06/1...new-manager-adds-to-growing-concerns-at-card/
